The Bills defense pitched their first shutout of this SFL cycle blanking the Phins 40-0.
The festivities started early on with an errant pass from Dolphins rookie QB Baker Mayfield, who was picked off by 2nd year CB Tre.Davious White. The offense took the field but stalled and put the team up 3-0.
On the very next series rookie CB Gordon Klein squatted on a hitch route ran by Jarvis Landry.
Klein tipped the football up in the air to himself.
Ran under the tipped football.
And then down the sideline.
Klein's TD put the team up 10-0 and gave the SFL's #1 scoring defense another TD.
From there it was about rattling the rookie QB. Shaq Lawson continued his great season chasing Mayfield down before he could turn the corner for a QB tackle. This gives Lawson 6.5 on the season.
Rookie DE/OLB Michael Ambrose dropped Mayfield twice this game. Here he's shown with his first QB tackle where he just beat Laramey Tunsil 1v1.
The QB tackle by Ambrose led to a fumble that was picked up by Marcel Dareus who stumbled down to the 5 yard line setting up Shady McCoy for his first TD on the day and giving the Bills a 17-0 lead early.
From there Rookie DT/DE Ikeem Ives penetrated the middle of the Dolphins OL on a play action play.
He was chopped blocked by Jay Ajiyi.
But still hustled and used his frame to trip up Mayfield for another QB tackle.
Michael Ambrose got his 2nd QB tackle by simply exploding off the edge and running around Juwan James untouched and to the QB.
Finally, FS Jordan Poyer dropped Mayfield on a FS blitz.
The Bills are currently putting plans together for a tough Colts offense next week.
