So, the New Orleans Saints lost again. And okay, they lost to a wildcard AFC team and dropped to 1-2 on the season. This article is to discuss the highlights that Saints' fans can use to get pumped moving forward.
The Saints' offense has been known to be quite potent under coach Norris' reign, but it looks as though they may have taken the next step. Through three games (at the time of writing this article), Blake Bortles is the number 2 passer in the league and Mark Ingram is the number 4 rusher in the league. The Saints have the 6th ranked scoring offense, 1st in overall offense, 2nd in passing ypg and 5th in rushing ypg!! If the Saints can remain this balanced, their offense should pose a grave threat to opposing defenses.
On the defensive side of the ball, things are not as bright...Save for a couple players making a splash across the league. Deone Bucannon and Cameron Jordan!! Cam Jordan is currently leading the league with 10 sacks through 3 games! Bucannon has attributed 5 sacks as well through as many games. Both these star defenders are tied for fifth in total tackles this year.
With a divisional game against the Carolina Panthers on deck, look for the New Orleans Saints' Offense to continue piling on the stats. This looks like it will be a shoot-out in the Super Dome. I'll see you guys next week with my post game comments and some interviews with several Saints' players and coaches!! Stay chill SFL.
