NFC Divisonal Round Matchups
Seattle (10-6) @ Atlanta (14-2) Line Atlanta -9.5
This is a rematch from Week 11. Atlanta went to Seattle and won 25-17. Seattle had 12 sacks but lost the turnover battle -2. Atlanta had 300 yards of offense, 153 yards below their season avg. Seatthle had 292 yards of offense, 46 yards below their season avg. Both teams had 15 first downs but the difference was the turnvovers.
This game will come down to Seattle defense vs Atlanta offense. Will the Seahawks be able to generate pressure again this week? It's a very intriguing matchup. The Seahawks appear to have hit a stride offensively and defensively. The Falcons are the #1 seed and always here. They expect to be playing this late in the season. Q is a seasoned vet in the SFL.
-----Seahawks Coach Matt had this to say about the game, "Q has been a believer in my success but I will have to pull no punches if I have a shot in this one."
------Falcons Coach Q couldn't be reached for comment.
I want to pull for the underdog but I expect Q to make adjustments from the previous game, the sacks will be cut in half and Atlanta will move to the next round.
Minnesota (11-5) @ Philadelphia (12-4) line Philadelphia -3.5
These teams did NOT meet in regular season. The only divsional matchup that isn't a rematch from the reg season.
You can see just from the stat line that this game will feature really close strength's and weaknesses. I think they key will be which teams lower rated side of the ball can make plays. Can the average Minny offense attack the average Philly defense? Or will the Philly defense limit the Minny offense??
Last week vs the Giants, Minnesota's offense rolled. The team is currently trending with the #JukeCity
Bryce and the Eagles have a high powered offense featuring SFL boss, LeGarrette Blount. The Eagles are a rare offense that has the ablity to stretch the field vertical and play smashmouth football.
Jason and the Vikes have a lockdown defense led by FS Harrison Smith and DE Danielle Hunter. This defense can do it all and many consider them the best defense in NFC.
----Coach Jason when asked for a comment said, "I want to say good luck to my opponent, Bryce. Later he added #FlyEaglesFly."
----Coach Bryce repeated the same statements of good will towards his oppoent and added #SkolNation
My opinion is that Jason peaked last night vs Gabe. Best I've seen him play. He also could very well just of hit his stride and be ready to ball out. Only knock on Jason is he has never won a big playoff game against one of the top dogs. I have to go with Bryce and the Eagles in a tight game decided in 4th qtr.
AFC Divisional Round
Houston (12-4) @ Cleveland (14-2) line Cleveland -6.5
This is a rematch from Week 6 in which the Browns went down to Houston and left with a 26-23 win. Cleveland rolled u 394 yards of offense while Houston had 325 yards of offense. Cleveland actually had 4 turnovers while Houston had 2. Houston was sacked 7 times and Cleveland suffered 4 sacks. The game appeared to be close the entire way through.
Both of these guys are SFL legends but B is in a category of his own around here. He has lifted the trophy 7 times and Chan has won it twice. Lots and lots of W's between these 2 guys.
If the Cleveland defense can generate a pass rush it'll be a long night for the Texans but I expect Chan to have some answers for that defense this time. The next question is can the Texans defense confuse B like they did early in the season when they forced 4 INTs?? I just can't see B making that many mistakes this time around.
-----Coach B when asked for a comment about the game simply said, "I just want my opponent to respond to my PM's."
------Coach Chan surprisingly couldn't be reached for a comment.
Looks like some bad blood could be brewing here folks.
For me personally this is my favorite Divisional game(outside of my own). All the SFL history with these 2 heavyweights, this will be a must watch game for any SFL member.
I'm going to go the safe route and pick the home team Browns to win and advance.
Patriots (12-4) @ Chargers (13-3) no line available
This is a rematch from Week 8 in what many called the GAME OF THE YEAR. This game saw NE jump out to a 28-14 halftime lead only for LAC to battle back and take the lead with :03 seconds left on a 100 yard KOR and win 40-35 on the road.
This game looks a lot like the Vikings/Eagles game in the NFC on paper. One team has a high powered offense vs the other's lock down defense. While each team's lesser side of the ball will square off.
LAC will have to score points to stay in this game. 26 pts is the lowest the Pats scored all season long with Asstin playing. They even put up 31 via autopilot vs LB in week 16.
2 drasticlly different styles here really. The Pats like to stomp on the gas and never let off. The Chargers are content with getting a lead, playing defense and taking close W's. Something will have to give this week, much like it did in Week 8.
The Chargers are back 100% healthy while the Pats will be missing stud WR, Brandin Cooks via suspension for doing coke, and we aint talkin cola. #barz
Since I'm playing in this game, I won't give a prediction for it. Just hope for an injury free game on both sides......and a LAC win. #BlessUP
