The Bills defense did what they could but had a couple of untimely calls that put the game out of reach. Linebackers' Ben Heeney and Ramon Humber did a good job of snagging interceptions to help the offense get the team back into the game. It was a tight contest until the 3rd qtr.
Lorenzo Alexander picked up where he left off from week 17 putting pressure on Tom Brady and taking him down for a loss on a 2nd down play.
The old man would defy the Patriots crowd with a celebration.
Nickel Back E.J. Gaines also got to Brady in the 2nd quarter as the defense was trying to shift the momentum of the game after two early scores by the Patriots. Finally, Jerry Hughes dropped Brady as the Hall of Fame QB attempted to move out of the pocket.
Now looking to the offseason the Bills Coaching Staff had this to say:
We got further this year than we anticipated. There's a lot to look at going forward personnel wise. We'll start making those evaluations this week. We definitely want to be better defensively whether that is through scheme or personnel additions.
