The Buffalo Bills defense was gashed on the ground in this game due to a great deal of swerve running by the Patriots.
I've never seen anything like it. I mean moves that nobody else in the league can make. It is what it is though. We got the W.
The Defense stifled the Patriots on the first two drives walking away with two interceptions.
The first was snagged by team interception leader and secondary captain Jordan Poyer. Poyer has had a great season for the Bills and ranks among 3rd in the AFC as best defensive back. This has certainly been a Pro Bowl Calibur season for Poyer. Shareece Wright would grab the 2nd interception for the Bills. The offense would stall and the Patriots eventually got things moving.
While the Patriots offense did get in a rhythm, the Bills did their best to get after Tom Brady. Brady however, played like the Incredible Hulk. Ben Heeney continued solid work in the Bills sub packages. Heeney to Brady early.
But as you can see here, while Heeney has Brady in his grasp, the Hall of Fame QB escapes.
The relentless pursuit of Ramon Humber however, prevents Brady from getting the football out of his hands.
Down 31-26 with 45 seconds left the game seemed out of reach for the Bills, but they dialed up an all out blitz and Micah Hyde dropped Patriots running back Dion Lewis for a Safety. This gave the offense one last chance.
The Bills defense finished the game with another five QB Tackle performance and two interceptions. The team closes out the season next week against the Dolphins and may have a chance to slip into the wild card round.
