The Broncos are going into the year with some new additions on offense and defense that they hope will pay off.
With the trading of their second round pick for a speedy MLB, Connor MacLeod, the Broncos hope to boister their big plays on defense, when asked about his impact on the game, MacLeod said, "At the end of the day, there can be only one."
On offense, they are led by their two second year players, Gideon Wyatt at QB, and Walter Payton Jr. at Halfback. They are also expecting big things from their surprise of the draft, 6th round pick, Keithen Booth at WR.
The opening game of the season for the Broncos had its shares of ups and downs, with some big plays made on offense and defense to seal the game. Defensively, the new acquisition of Connor MacLeod showed that it is paying off early, with 1 interception and 11 tackles overall in the contest. Perhaps the biggest playmaker of the game came from second year Strong Safety, #20 Clinton McNabb, who had 2 interceptions, as well as a pick 6, which gave the Broncos a lead that was never relinquished.
The Dolphins played hard and took the game to overtime, that is when his namesake showed, Walter Payton Jr. broke the third play of the overtime for a 65 yard touchdown run to send the Dolphins home with the loss, and allow the Broncos to start the season 1 and 0.
