It's been a rocky road to begin the season for the Carolina Panthers, stumbling out of the gate with a 1-2 record. Expectations were high once Carolina found their first win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but have failed to find success since.
Last week the Panthers found themselves in turnover city, committing more fumbles than a team should in a 4-week span. A positive from this performance was that once the squad found themselves in the second half they were able to shutout the Los Angeles Rams but eventually lost 31-21.
A focal point of this team is their running game and they'll need to pick it up on that end of things if they want to get back on track. Now starting running back Christian McCaffery has had to handle the load both on the ground and through the air, and could use some help.
The second year man leads the team in rushing yards (156) and is behind only TE Greg Olsen in receiving yards with 176. Clearly Carolina likes what they see out of this Stanford product but are in need of another threat to emerge in the form of Kelvin Benjamin or Devin Funchess.
This team has the personnel to secure wins, but the offense needs to show that they can keep this team in games if the defense breaks down.
