The SFL playoffs just wouldn't be the same if they didn't pit two unlikely foes against one another in Coach Crim and Coach Gomes. These two have had their fair share of run-ins with one another, meeting in the playoffs a total of 3 times to date.
Carolina will have the luxury of playing in-front of their home crowd this weekend as they finished with the #3 seed in the NFC. Home field advantage may not be enough for the Panthers' to suceed as they prepare to go up against a stout Dallas defence. The Panthers aren't far behind in the rankings when it comes to defence between these two squads, but with the Cowboys leaning on the production from their secondary it will be no easy task to dismantle.
Kevin Barnard and Terrance West will likely be relied upon heavily to change the pace and open up space for Carolina's offence to operate. The likes of Byron Jones, Sean Lee and Jaylon Smith will need to be kept in check in order for Carolina to find any success on the ground or through the air.
Coach Crim remains confident that his squad is up for the challenge. "We've been up against tougher defences this season and we've had success, this week will be no different," said the 2nd year coach.
If history has taught us anything it is that when these two collide there's no telling who will come out on top, will Carolina's season come to a close or will they continue to make a name for themselves throughout the league?
