As the Giants look on to Week 6, a quick recap of this team's Week 4 & 5 games:
Week 4 was against the Bears at home. After a close first quarter with CHI leading 14-13, NYG would get hot in the second and third quarter putting up another 28 to the Bears' 10. The game would go on to finish 47-27 in New York's favor. Daniel Jones went 15/18 for 264 yds, 3 tds and a pick. The defense was locked in during passing downs coming away with 5 ints, 3 sacks, and 10 tfl's. Bears dominated the ground game though.
This Week 5 game was against Green Bay, and somehow New York is proceeding with a win. The offense for the Giants struggled BIG time. NY's 406 total yards were met with 5 turnovers, a stat that would make it tough for any team to win. Jones would go 20/36 for 264 yds, 1 td and 2 ints. He had a hard time holding onto the ball getting stripped 3 times, losing it twice, with one time being inches from the endzone. So knowing these disasters, how did NY win? Their defense would show up and be about as clutch as can be. They would end the day with 2 ints, 4.5 sacks, a safety and 13 tfl's. But the real game changing moments came from 2 forced fumbles, one that led to a score for the lead, and the other on the next Packers' possession to let NY run out the clock for the 40-36 win.
Going forward, working on the run defense, and on executing offensive plays instead of relying on improvising after things breakdown will be the focus for this squad.
Next game will be against the Ravens at home.
