Coach Garret fired, after an alleged scandal involving star RB Ezekiel Elliot. Garret was accused of tampering with evidence pertaining to Elliots Domestic violence case.

A lot of fans are worried about the direction of the team, but with a lengthy record of victories (CFL) under his belt owner Jerry Jones is confident that Gomes will bring the Cowboys back to glory.
It would appear Jones isn't the only one buying into his new coach, as many players and coaches have expressed the value Gomes brings.

One of the best stories of this off season has been the return of Jaylon Smith, projected to go #1 overall in the 2016 draft smith tumbled to the end of RnD 2, because of an “unrecoverable” knee injury, but through hard work an determination (missed all of 16/17) the young LB pushed himself to the limit and will now be looking to start all 16 games this season.
