After missing half of the previous season and no shot at the playoffs, Coach Bruce Wayne was determined to rectify that for what was essentially a lost season. Realizing the GRAND DESIGN, it would appear that the sleeper has awakened. Acquiring free agent vets in WR Jordy Nelson & Golden Tate as well as the talented corner-to-safety Dominique Rodgers Cromartie led some to dub Kansas City as the "Offseason Champs". Not to mention a blockbuster trade for the uber talented RB Zeke Elliot and expectations were sky high for the upcoming season.
"The sleeper has awakened"
After 4 games here we are undefeated and tied with Oakland for the AFCW division lead. We rank 3rd in points scored and 4th in points allowed, which is a recipe for success. Going forward we would like to cut down on the yards we allow(ranked 18th) but when you have coaches hell bent on getting stats in garbage time it can't be helped.
Offensively we're still figuring things out from a scheme and coaching perspective. We haven't really had to throw or run much in these 4 games due to the amount of turnovers we generate. This can be seen as positive and negative as we learn how to best utilize all of the talent we have offensively going forward. With the 2nd Quarter of the season approaching we're looking to get a stronghold of the AFCW with rematches against Los Angeles and Denver.
