Tampa Bay came into the game needing to prove that they can win with the big time acquisitions of TE Julius Thomas and WR Mike Wallace after a poor showing against division rival Atlanta. The offense didn't look much better against the Eagles so there will be talk in the media in regards to poor offseason moves by Coach Cypher Simile.
"We will figure this out. There isn't a doubt in my mind that we will." Said the disappointed coach.
DT Gerald McCoy took to twitter after the Atlanta game and said he would never be shut out again. Boy, did he ever step up to his own challenge. He recorded 2 of Tampa's 4 QB tackles on the day and helped stymie HB Lesean McCoy rushing efforts and held him to just 55 yards rushing.
Notes:
CB Alterraun Verner got INT #1 on the year and returned it for a TD
Rookie LE Devonta Hardy acquired his 5th QB tackle and leads the league in QB tackles after two games.
ROLB Lavonte David made up for his poor week 1 performance by registering a blistering 12 solo tackles and 3 tfl.
In week 3, the 1-1 Tampa Bay Buccaneers will face off against the 1-1 Washington Redskins.
