"Earlier this year we created this hashtag called "#protectoverthetop" so that the rest of the league could defend the one button wonders of the league. Today, we proved that the hashtag is real and it is certainly possible" said the now 9-1 Chicago Bears HC Coach Cypha. QB Keevin Steed had only his second poor performance to date. He threw two 1st quarter INTs but then settled down to finish with 253 yards passing and 1 TD. HB Curtis Cobbs was the star of this game as he carried the football 24 times for 115 yards and 4 touchdowns. "Run aggressive and run violently was what Coach Cypha told me pre-game. I knew he had a plan for me to get the football a lot this game but I didn't think I'd find this much success. Thankful OLB Khalil Mack is out of town *laughs*" said the 2nd year HB who is quickly becoming a household name in the SFL.
The defense indeed did #protectoverthetop. The Oakland Raiders had many streak routes called and didn't complete a single one of them and ended up throwing a pick on one of them to CB Spencer Booth. "Coach told us to bail out on Coop [Amari] and Perriman. We were confused by the approach but trusted in coach and he put us in the best position to succeed like a good coach is supposed to." said CB Spencer Booth. The defensive line had a heck of a day getting after QB Derek Carr as at one point, they forced two fumbles and had three QB tackles in 3 straight plays. "We played well and did what we had to do. Detroit is up next and those boys are physical. Gotta play just like this next week" said ROLB Tyler Torbor who had a QB tackle and 2 FFs in the game.
