"I know what y'all want me to say." coach Cypha said to begin his post game presser. "Mr. 'If I was in Steps division I'd have two easy wins off him'...tell me how my you-know-what tastes? Nah. You won't get that here. Coach Ark is a fierce competitor and he has his team playing solid football despite now being at the bottom of the barrel at 0-4. Much respect to him and his team and the best of luck to him moving forward."
The offense was slow and steady but it got the job done. HB Jeremy Langford found little running room on the ground but was able to do damage through the air. His 7 receptions were a game high for the Chicago Bears. "That defense was everywhere I wanted to be or we had designed. It was really rough going but our QB is better than theirs and that's ultimately what it came down to" said the HB who was kept out of the endzone for the first time this season. QB Keevin Steed was able to go 17-21 for 245 with no touchdowns and no picks but had an untimely fumble after being QB tackled that resulted in a scoop and score.
The defense, despite the score, was strong and did it's job. Former San Diego Charger DE Joey Bosa was very disruptive in this game as he had a QB tackle and forced QB Dillon Hollenbach to throw a pick on the left sideline to CB Bryce Callahan; his third INT on the season. "I was pumped to go into San Diego and hear my old fans cheering for me. It got me hype and made me want to go out there and shine and make San Diego remember what they used to have." DE Joey Bosa wasn't the lone wolf out there as DE Leonard "Pretty Boy" Floyd got himself a QB tackle and a forced fumble. The defense, as a whole, forced three interceptions and were what ultimately gave the Chicago Bears this win.
Sidenote & Parting Shots
QB Keevin Steed has completed 80% of his passes on the season and still has just 1 INT on the season.
CB Bryce Callahan acquired another INT and his count is now up to 3.
WR Rashaun Tutt, who suffered a high ankle sprain, took a senzu bean and is injury free.
The (4-0) Chicago Bears will now welcome the (0-3) Detroit Lions as this will be the first time Coach Cypha & Coach Fast HB will meet in the league.
