Reporter: We appreciate you joining us here today for this one-on-one interview and Q&A.
Coach Cypha: It's no problem. Happy to be here.
R: So we have a few questions we, being the fans of Chicago and myself...also a fan, would like to ask you in regards to the team, its prospects and the league.
C: Okay. Ask away.
R: Who is the most competitve owner in the division?
C: Tough question to begin. See...I have already advocated this but I'm wavering on this already. I'm going to say the Vikings owner, at this moment, is a slight hair above the Packers owner in terms of competition. It was the Vikings owner far and beyond but that game against the Packers today....phew....boys got themselves a heck of a coach.
R: That nail-biter was definitely something. QB Keevin Steed has shown his clutch gene very often which leads me to the next question: is QB Keevin Steed going to continue to show out this season? Or were these two games just flashes in the pan?
C: Now I wouldn't be much of a head coach if I weren't honest. I do believe QB Keevin Steed has progressed and is on his way to the top tier of QBs in the league. He has the weapons surrounding him with Malcolm [Herlich], Ray Ray [Tutt], Jeremy [Langford], Rouse, Eric Rector....see where I'm going with this?
R: *chuckle* Yeah I'm seeing this.
C: Look, when you surround your QB with great players and they progress and become viable commodities to the offense, if the play calling is good then the QB is good. Again though, QB Keevin Steed is on his way but he's not quite there yet and he knows I wouldn't tell him anything differently.
R: I respect your honesty coach because a lot of owners would declare they are something that they really aren't. No shade though.
C: Hah. I see what you did there.
R: Haha. Next question: do you believe a title is possible in Chicago?
C: Absolutely. We have the offense for it and the defense is rounding into shape. It is only a matter of time before the windy city gets another one. Just have to trust the process.
R: Good deal coach. Final question: who are the top 5 SFL owners during this cycle at this very moment?
C: Hahaha I knew this question would come up.
R: Hah well you have been very vocal about this in the past so I figured you wouldn't mind revisiting this.
C: Haha nah, I have no qualms about discussing this. So top 5...in order?
R: Yes sir.
C: Okay let's see...I'll go B and the Rams at number one, Chan and the Texans at number two, Bryce and now with the Bengals at number three, LB and the Bills at number four and finally, Q and the Falcons at number five.
R: Okay okay okay but real quick before we go, who is the "next man up" into that top 5?
C: Believe it or not, and you're not going to believe me saying this, but Zach and those Cardinals have made me a believer. I think with him and that team, the sky is the limit.
R: Wow. I remember you saying he was barely top 15. That playoff loss really changed a lot huh?
C: Yeah man and I am not afraid to backtrack when I realize I was wrong. I truly believe that his team is poised to do great things and it's only a matter of time. Also, don't sleep on Clint and those Broncos or AC and those Redskins. Both are great owners and they have been slept on far too long.
R: AC, being a 3-time champion and Clint, who has those Broncos destroying offensive lines everywhere are definitely threats to the title year in and year out. Thank you Coach Cypha for your time and good luck to your team the rest of the way.
C: Thank you and I appreciate the great questions.
