Way-Too-Early M19 Division Rankings

by patriotsfan543 | 6 years ago | 0 Comments

It is almost that time of year again. Activity will soon start picking up in RML and with it comes a re-alignment of divisions based on skill per division. This ranking is way too early because the rosters haven't even been drafted yet, but I'm bored so here goes nothing. *Divisions still subject to change*.

NFC North

One of the strongest divisions, if not the strongest division in RML is the NFC North. There are 3 brilliant owners and one very good in my opinion. My rankings are as follows:

1. BLD{Lions}

BLD has been one of the most consistent teams in M18, making the playoffs consistently and winning one Bowl. BLD lurks over the middle like an alligator in a murky lake yet people consistently jump into the middle of the lake for some reason. He is my favorite to take the top spot in a tough decision

2. Joe{Packers}

Coming in 2nd in the NFCN is Joe. It is a tight contest between him and Snake and I feel as if they will split their series' a lot during the regular season and those games could be the decisive factor. I think some years Joe will come in 2nd and others Snake will. It is neck and neck, but the bigger question as far as Joe goes is can he finally overcome the hump of winning a Super Bowl in M19? Going to be tough in a division as tough as this to get favorable seeding.

3. Snake{Bears}

Pretty much what I just said for Joe applies here except Snake won't have a cakewalk of a division each year and that is a concern as he had his fair share of struggles facing the good teams in M18 in the playoffs and seems to consistently choke in the playoffs.

4. Bruce{VIkings}

There is no denying that Bruce is a very solid player and has showed it in M18. (Insert Mike playing for him joke here). But I just don't see anyway that Bruce will ever even sniff the playoffs in this division. He has the talent, but its going to be tough having 6 games against BLD, Snake, and Joe each year. Sorry Bruce.

NFC EAST

We go from one of the best divisions to one of the worst divisions in M19. These players definitely have potential if they make the next step and playing each other all year will hopefully allow one of them to stand out.

1. Danno(Redskins)

It was a promising start to M18 for Danno as he went 11-5 in S2 and S3, making the playoffs but never making any noise. And then Danno lost to me and it went all downhill, breaking INT records along the way and solidifying himself as a bottom tier player. However M19 should be different for Danno as I think he can handle his division mates fairly well. I don't think he will win the division every year, but I think he will win the most out of everyone.

2. Shane(Eagles)

Shane has consistently underperformed pretty much every single season in RML in M18 and I really don't know why. When Shane can get in a groove with the running game(especially with Blount) it can be scary, but he just has never been able to put it together. He has done good in other leagues according to my sources so I'm expecting to see a turnaround from him especially because he doesn't have to face Joe 2x a year anymore.

3. Andy(Cowboys)

Andy has shown consistent improvement throughout M18 but little to show for it. The base is there now he just has to take that next step to becoming mediocre. I think a lot of people will be sleeping on him because it was hard for him to make any noise in the NFC East in M18, but in a division like this he can definitely sneak his way to a division title if everything goes his way.

4. Al Bundy(Giants)

The question has been is AL Bundy tanking in M18 or is he just this bad? For parity's sake I really hope he isn't tanking and I'm going to write this as an assumption he isn't tanking. If Bundy is really this bad I don't see him making too much noise in M19 even in a weak division like this. I expect him to be in contention for a No.1 pick some years.

NFC South

Now we head to the NFC South which I think is probably one of the most balanced divisions and as far as being compared to other divisions go, I think it's right smack in the middle.

1. Barn(Panthers)

As long as Barn can stay out of jail I think Barn should win this division relatively easily most years as he has shown he can beat the elite talents and I don't think he should lose too much to his division foes. I expect to see the Panthers in the playoffs a lot in M19.

2. Vic(Saints)

Vic has grown throughout M18 and become an above average player, showing flashes early in the franchise, but making the playoffs in the latter half. What benefits Vic is I think he should be able handle Cam and Matt, but will struggle with Barn in my opinion. I wouldn't be surprised if he can steal a division win maybe once, but a wild card will be tough with the other stacked divisions.

3. Cam(Bucs)

Oh Cam, my personal Kryptonite. Cam has to be one of the most confusing players to rate in the whole league. The first few seasons of M18 were tough and he even got himself the #1 pick one year. I heard whispers that Cam used to actually be good prior to M18 and we definitely saw glimpeses of that, but I can't rank him high until I see it. I think him and Vic can battle for 2nd a few years, but I think Vic is the better player.

4. Matt(Falcons)

This is tough for me to rank since I haven't seen Matt play during the height of a league's activity and even since he took over for Seth he didn't blow me away. I don't think Matt will consistently finish last, but I don't see him winning this division.

NFC WEST

Now we head over to one of the most controversial divisions put together and one of the weaker ones too. I wouldn't be surprised to see this one change, but I'm going to rank it as is.

1. Monkey(Cardinals)

Monkey has shown before he can hang with some of the big boys, but can't with the others. He is definitely an above average talent and definitely a better talent than everyone else in this division. I would honestly be shocked if Monkey didn't win this division every year and if he doesn't win the division it is a massive choke job. I don't expect him to make too much noise in the playoffs though,

2. Cody(Rams)

Cody did win a very weak AFC West at the height of RML a few times, but never made much noise in the playoffs and I don't recall him having too many big wins in the regular season. I hope he can give Monkey a run for his money, but I think he'll end up falling short.

3. Ryan(Seahawks)

You all know Ryan, the nicest guy on the face of the earth, but this isn't a nice ranking, this is a Madden ranking. I think Ryan might be my sleeper vote for M19 to make some noise as I definitely see something in him and a relatively weak division will help him do that, but I need to see him beat some good teams to rank him higher. If everything falls right I can see Ryan making a push to the playoffs at some point in M19.

4. Jacob(49ers)

Jacob has just been consistently bad during the course of M18 and I honestly don't see how that is going to change in M19. It's not like he just loses to the great guys and can hang with the bad teams...he has lost to the bad teams many, many times and this division isn't going to make it easier for him. I'd be shocked if he came close to the playofs in M19.

AFC North

Now we move to the AFC and specifically the North. The North seems to be a little bit imbalanced within itself, but I think it's going to be a very intriguing division.

1. Timbo(Ravens)

I think this division will mostly be coming down to Timbo and Sentra each and every year and they very well can leapfrog each other if they both play up to their potentials. The only thing holding Sentra back is in M18 his lows have been very low(Tanking? Maybe idk). If Timbo is as good as Mike says with the benefit of drafting his own team this time then I expect him to make the playoffs each year, but he has to back it up.

2. Sentra(Steelers)

Sentra has been inconsistent to say the least in his tenure with RML so far in M18 and I might even be giving him too much credit but the rest of the division leaves a little to be desired. And I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Sentra finishes in 3rd a lot behind Frankie.

3. Frankie(Browns)

Force Frankie will be back at it with his Cleveland Browns this year and like I mentioned before, I wouldn't be surprised if Frankie can make a run some years and maybe even snatch the division. But I'm more comfortable saying that he will likely hang between 2nd and 3rd in the division year in and year out and maybe sneak in a wild card depending on how the conference shakes out.

4. Motherload(Bengals)

I think this might be the most egregious placement of any team in M19. Motherload isn't god awful like some teams have been in the past and even though he is very quiet he plays his games and is just a little below average. But with that said I don't see anyway how Motherload will ever sniff the top of the division let alone even getting out of the basement. Sorry Motherload, but I don't think you'll be making the playoffs the way things stand right now.

AFC EAST

Ah the AFC EAST, an interesting division during the course of M18, having different winners after the leaving of Snake. This is one of the weaker divisions in M19, but I think will be fairly competitive.

1. Brad(Patriots)

I'm not tooting my own horn here, but I think I have shown I can hang with some of the big dawgs at times. But at the same time I have had a good amount of lows losing to some bad teams. I think my biggest competition in M19 will be Tenderloin as he knows me very well now and he knows how to play me. Ultimately I think I will do better than Tenderloing with out of division games and I think that will be the difference maker.

2. Tenderloin(Bills)

I think people have been underating Tenderloin for M19 as this time around he will finally have a team he put together himself and he has shown flashes of brilliance, but at the same time he has had some very, very bad moments and mistakes. The biggest thing with him is cutting down mistakes and keeping his head in the game. Being in a bad division gives him some leeway and can see him making a little bit of a noise and maybe an occasional playoff appearance.

3. Steve(Jets)

Steve has been a consistent owner and a reliable one, but has been sititing in the basement pretty much all of M18. I think his division having Bruce and Jeff really hasn't done him any favors and I think people are definitely sleeping on him. I am definitely going to have to play him hard come gametime and if I'm not careful I think Steve can end up doing something come M19.

4. Nick Rizzo(Dolphins)

Nick Rizzo has been out of the game for a good while and is hard to rank. He is going to have an enormous amount of rust and I honestly don't see him doing anything at least in beginning of M19.

AFC South

The South may be the toughest divisions in M19 and it will be an absolute bloodbath year in and year out.

1, Mike M(Colts)

Winning Back To Back Super Bowls in M18 it is hard to argue with the Resume of Mike in RML. He has shown time after time he is an elite talent and expectations for M19 each season is Super Bowl and nothing less. It won't come easy though as he never saw this type of competition within the divsion except maybe when Kentucky was in the league, but even then it was just one team instead of all the way through.

2. Jeff(Titans)

This might as well been 1A as Jeff and Mike 2x a year will be like Mike Tyson vs Muhammad Ali each and every year. I can honestly see both teams going undefeated except for their matchups. I think whoever wins the season series between the two will come away with the divsision. There are no rooms for slip ups against bad or mediocre teams in this division.

3. Dough Boy(Jags)

Dough took a little time to show his full potential in M18 and I don't know if I have seen consistent play from him against big time teams to ranking him too high, but there is no denying he deserves to be in this division. I just have a hard time seeing him placing beyond Mike and Jeff, but a wild card is definitely still in play for Dough.

4. Plug(Texans)

To be honest I don't think anyone has seen Plug play enough in this league to accurately rank him, but I don't see him being aboe Mike and Jeff. I think this will be a battle for 3rd between him and Dough and perhaps a battle for the WC as well.

AFC West

Now we head to our final division in which it is another very strong division and the winner will most definitely deserve it.

1. Danny(Raiders)

Danny has shown he can win a Bowl as he has one to his name in M18 and he wasn't in the league for it's entirety. Danny drafting his team and being here for the whole time is a scary thought and I expect him to be a perennial playoff contender. He will definitely be tested during the season, but I think he should win the most division titles.

2. Seth(Broncos)

Seth at the height of M18 was very good, but could never quite get over the hump in the playoffs. I think this division will make it tough for him to make it further than he did in M18 and I think the battle for this division is so tight that there isn't much room between anybody really and I can see this division having a different order every single year.

3. Shawn(Chiefs)

Shawn was pretty much average most of M18 and then towards the end became elite, but I think some of that could be attributed towards it being the end of the year. I think Hon and him are very close and Hon might be the better player(but I mean he lost to me). But like I said before, this division is so tight.

4. Hon(Chargers)

Hon had some good years in M18 and can definitely hang with the big boys. This ranking is probably too low for him and I can easily see him winning this division at least once, but as for this whole division, it's basically like everyone is tied. H2H between everyone will be huge and nobody can afford to choke against bad or mediocre teams.

Thanks for reading guys! I will be conducting coach interviews again starting in M19 so make sure you stay creative with those! And I may do another power ranking once we draft the teams but that's TBD.
