RML 2021 Mock Draft
By: Mnmicecr3am
Although I can pretty much guarantee many trades involving these picks for the sake of this article, there will be no trades. Thank you
1. Jags- Lewis Goff OLB/DE TEXAS (Pictured Above) – The Jaguars refuse to draft and develop QBs and instead shop for Vets. Unless Goff flops at the combine, he will be the unanimous best defensive prospect.
2. Eagles – Derek Silva QB OLEMISS – The Eagles get the best QB prospect since Andrew Luck with this guy, not a hard choice here.
3. Ravens – Max Tobeck QB UGA – Ravens get the next best thing in Tobeck, who is much better than RG3 was to Mr. Luck. Tobeck brings reliability to the Ravens at QB
4. Bengals – Griffin Hatchette DE UGA – Bengals is not going to trade his pick and is in a good spot to take BPA due to an all-around ageing roster. Hatchette has been compared to JJ Watt and might live up to the name.
5. Saints – Lorell Milburn HB LSU – Milburn gets the edge here but between Wilkinson and himself, whoever measures the best at prodays and combine will likely go to the Saints at 5. The Saints need weapons and Milburn loves the endzone. Great fit here.
6. Packers – Curtis Johnson WR Pitt – Ignoring needs for a big name WR is something the Packers love to do. Johnson is a great prospect and will fit right in with what the Packers are doing, but defense wins championships in RML.
7. Seahawks – Davonte Wilkinson RB UM – Wilkinson doesn’t slide from 5 as the Hawks desperately need fresh legs in their backfield as well. Wilkinson helps Locklear in the Hawks quest for greatness.
8. Colts – Henry Okung CB Ole Miss – What better than a 6’4 CB that will likely run sub 4.4? The Colts always seem to have prospects fall right in their laps, or they trade up to grab him. With aging DBs, the Colts need to solidify the group shortly if they continue to have dominance in RML
9. 49ers – Malik Gallon S LSU – The Niners also need to improve their defensive backfield if they have any hope of returning to the playoffs. Gallon is a heavy hitter who can play any position in the secondary.
10. Patriots – Henry Studdard MLB OKLA – Studdard has had a great season and might even have a better combine. The Pats picked a good year to need linebackers as they are in a good spot to get a top tier prospect here.
11. Panthers – Henry Fenelus CB Oregon – The Panthers need CBs, although Fenelus is a good prospect, he is not the CB you hope to get at 11. A weaker class pushes up his value. Hopefully he has a good combine to drive up his value.
12. Falcons – Bj Dickerson HB BGreen- Eric Dickerson’s grandson falls to a RB needy team at 12. Dickerson might be the next Jerome Bettis in the right position. The back runs into people comparable to a semi would.
13. Titans – Carey Page LT PSU – The Titans need to avoid the glamorous picks and speed if they hope to compete for playoffs. They need to build up their line to give their young QB a chance to grow.
14. Broncos – Tj Beal WR TENN – Broncos get a gamebreaker with Beal and are quite happy with the new offensive weapon. Solid ROTY pick for Broncos believers.
15. Bears – Javarie Riley OLB OSU – Riley is another intriguing LB prospect that will likely have a good combine. Bears fill a need with this pick and get a straight footballer who is good in coverage as well.
16. Packers – Jonathan Blevins FS TEXAS – Blevins fits more of a pressing need for the Packers, the first team to pick twice. Blevins gives the Packers an intriguing FS who can lay wood but also cover very well.
17. Vikings – Grant Dutka UO QB – Dutka is the fast QB the Vikings need and want. Rodgers might not retire, but he is not the QB of the future for the Vikings, and neither is Cooley.
18. Bills – Mike Merritt QB LOU – I think this is the year the Bills toss Teddy and get a new shiny toy at QB. Although Merritt is the 4th one off the board, in past drafts he would be considered at the first spots.
19. Packers – Earlzo Peterson UColo CB – Packers double dip at DB with a guy who could really benefit from a great combine. Keep an eye on Peterson who could jump much higher than this with good 40 times.
20. Texans – Case Warren WR Wyo – Texans has been adamant about acquiring tall WRs. Warren isn’t the best prospect but he has two things you can’t coach, Speed and height.
21. Browns – Antoine YoungBlood WR OHIO – Browns will likely reach for a cheesy fast WR here. Don’t hold your breath for anything ethical with this pick.
22. Bills – Gant McDonald S OLE MISS – McDonald is a prime candidate to move to CB with this weak class. Bills have a need and fill it, sort of.
23. Steelers – Victor Becton FS BAMA – Steelers get a thumper that gets Swearinger the hell out of the starting line-up.
24. Cards – Joseph Maynard DT OKLA – Cards continue to groom their Dline with Maynard, another top DT prospect.
25. Vikings – Jarrett Nunley DE OLE MISS – Nunley is a solid DE in a good spot for a DE needy team. Vikings choose more of a need and starter than their QB choice.
26. Ravens – Treyvon Rheem TE USC – The Ravens do not need a TE, but they don’t really need anything. Rheem is a luxury pick and is a great TE prospect comparable to Evan Engram.
27. Chargers – Cory Burgess UM WR – Burgess has solid hands and the Chargers need weapons. He may not out run you but he definitely will win some 1 on 1 balls.
28. Colts – Walter Coles TE UF – Coles is another TE prospect that could greatly benefit from a strong combine. His 6’6 frame is heavily enticing for all owners across RML.
29. Lions – Hunter Alstott QB Wisc – The Lions need a qb and Alstott is the best of the rest here. Look for a Vet to teach the rookie for a year.
30. Jets – James Amaya TE USC – The AFC top3 all go TE in the first round. Amaya is the best overall prospect of the 3, but he does not have the speed the other 2 do.
31. Bucs – Dareon Folston DT CLEM – The Bucs add to their impossible run stuffing D with a BPA pick here.
32. Colts – Tomas John WR CLEM – John brings solid hands to a WR core that has speed and after that not much. With AJ Green aging, this might be a great fit.
