Today we sat down with the leader of the Minnesota Vikings, Lil Jason who has led his team to a 5-0 record in a very tough division much to the surprise of everyone around the league. In the following interview we discuss his epic start in Minnesota, season expectations, and how they will cope with losing their Star QB Jared Goff for 5 weeks. We hope you enjoy.

Q: Hello Coach Lil Jason, thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule. Your Minnesota Vikings are off to a phenomenal 5-0 start. What has been the key to your team’s early success?

A: I’d have to say our play in the trenches. Our D-line has been playing really great. We have really done a good job of leaving our opponents one dimensional by taking away the run game. DE Joey Bosa also has given a huge help as well with his league leading 11 sacks.

Q: Yes, your defense has been absolutely disgusting, leading the league in least points allowed(6 pts/game) and pitching 2 shutouts against the Bills and then the Eagles. Obviously you just talked about stopping the run game and having Bosa, but is this something you set out to do from the beginning? Have the defense be the main key to your gameplans?

A: Yes definitely, when we scouted during the draft our main focus was the big guys. We wanted to make sure our defensive and offensive line was a solid group of guys and it really has turned out great as we lead the league in sacks. The offensive line has suffered some growing pains with a lot of sacks allowed versus eagles which eventually led to our starting QB getting injured, but we’ll battle through.

Q: I was going to bring up the Goff injury, but as everyone knows now you are without your starting QB for 5 weeks. You are 7th in the league in Passing yards with Goff, but this is obviously not ideal for your Minnesota Vikings. You got a tough Cardinals team ahead, a good Saints team, and a brilliant Lions team all in this stretch not to mention a Jets team that can put up a fight. How are you going to plan out for these games without Goff and are there any plans to bring in an external player at QB?

A: Yeah we displayed horrible offensive line play during that eagles game. It came to no surprise that Goff went down late in the game. He was getting battered all game. Once Goff went down Trevor Siemian came into the game and he looked promising. I think the guy may be able to produce given this new opportunity, we have definitely seen it in the league before. So yes we have fielded some offers for a quarterback, but our coaching is confident in Siemian.

Q: It should be interesting to see how you overcome this crucial injury and I’m sure the opposing teams will be gameplanning for it. But now lets set our focus on the future of this season...what is Coach Lil Jason’s ultimate expectations for this season? Win Division? Conference Championship? Super Bowl? Let’s hear it.

A: We definitely are expected a deep run into the playoffs. Coaching staff, players, and executives are all expecting us to have a great season this year. Even with our starting quarterback going down, we still have confidence that our defense will continue to perform on the highest level. With Goff going down it does put a lot of pressure on our run game though. Alex Collins will have to carry the ball like never before and rookie Wayne Gallman will have to be ready to perform at all times.

Q: I think that about wraps it up here. Thank you for your time Coach Lil Jason and good luck rest of the way!
