The God Damn Jets

The Jets fell to 1-3 after a 20-17 loss to the division foes in New England. The Jets defense was the bright spot in this game, forcing 3 turnovers in the form of interceptions of second year QB Drew Bledsoe. The Jets offense could not capitalize on these mistakes, and rookie Brett Favre threw 4 interceptions of his own.

The offensive line felt the absence of standout tackle Mekhi Becton, as Favre was under pressure most of the game. Favre was able to throw for 348 yards and one score despite the constant pressure. Favre has plenty of promise and talent, but the coaching staff and players need to execute gameplans better on a weekly basis.

Dave Malone and Kenny Golladay were held mostly in check, neither eclipising the 100 yard mark. Lev Bell had his first rushing touchdown in this game, and saw increased snaps with an injury to Matt Breida. Injuries have continued to plague the Jets, as Breida and Gerald McCoy are constantly exiting games due to injury. Folorunso Fatukasi (DT) also exited the game with a long term injury which will sideline him for 8 weeks.

The Jets look to avoid going 1-4 with a matchup against the Miami Dolphins next week. Their previous matchup was a shootout which was driven by Favre's best game of the season.
