The much anticipated 2021 New York Jets campaign opened against the defending AFC champion Kansas City Chiefs. New coach Frank Sinatra didn't appear to have the Jets ready to play, getting blown out 60 to 21.
Rookie Brett Favre had an okay start to the game, but ended his night with a dismal 64.6 passer rating. Favre threw for 421 yard and two scores, but coupled it with four interceptions. Offseason signing Kenny Golladay lived up to the hype, catching four balls for 170 yards and a score as one of the few bright spots. Robert Tonyan also hauled in four catches for 62 yards and a score.
The Jets defense didn't have too many answers besides their two interceptions of Patrick Mahomes, as Tyreek Hill caught two touchdowns and 221 yards. Jamal Charles also exploded for 187 yards and three scores.
The Jets look to avoid going 0-2 against the divisional foes from Miami next week. Frank Sinatra promised a playoff birth, but these could be the same god damn Jets.
