Dolphins Win After Delay

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Miami Dolphins will be celebrating on their flight home from North Carolina. They came away with a ( __ to __ ) win to pull to 4-5 on the season.

It was a competitive first half, as both teams went back and forth with turnovers and punts, with some successful drives in between. The Panthers were able to even the score at 10 going into the locker room for the half. That’s when all hell broke loose.

There were unannounced issues that caused the game to go into a delay after the first half. Reports from a spokesperson close to the Dolphins said that Leo Moss was very upset with his team’s first half performance, and he completely destroyed broadcast equipment that was along their path back to the locker room. The broadcast went dark and viewers had no clue what was going on.

The game resumed after a two-hour delay and momentum had completely shifted. Moss came out of the half and ran for a couple of touchdowns on long runs. Medlock also caught a TD pass. The stats were lost in the halftime issues, so we’ll have to wait for the handwritten scorebooks to come in for final stat lines.

Dan Marino turned the ball over a couple of times before the game halted. He looked much sharper after the break, only throwing a couple of incomplete passes on about 12 attempts. The Dolphins defense was able to intercept the Panther’s young QB 4 or 5 times after the restart.

The Dolphins rise to (4-5) on the season and the Panthers fall to (0-9).

“I like the way we played today.” Dolphins Coach Pat Hearn said after the game, “ready to get home after that long delay— its gonna be a late one for us. Luckily we’re boarding the plane with a W.”

RESTART

Because of the delay during the game, stats will not be counted. The game will be simmed as a Dolphins win, as they won the second half 21-0 after being tied 10-10 before the restart.
