EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The Miami Dolphins skid continued with a week 5 loss to the New York Jets.
The game looked to be competitive going into halftime, but a Jets pick six with under a minute to go in the half put them up 14 and they never looked back.
Dolphin’s quarterback Dan Marino was more efficient but had another costly turnover. Leo Moss had a decent game with 161 yards and a TD on the ground, however, a chunk of those yards came on a long run in garbage time.
The Jets pulled to (2-3) on the season and the Dolphins fall to (1-4).
“We’re going to keep fighting” Dolphins Coach Pat Hearn said with urgency following the loss, “We’ve got a lot of young players. Time to see who will step up and be a leader.”
QB SWITCH
The Dolphins haven’t received any trade interest in QB Tua Tagovoila and have been rumored to be considering starting him in their next contest against the Buffalo Bills. Dolphins coach Pat Hearn had “No comment” when asked about the matter.
STRANGE ANIMATIONS
Late in the game, Dan Marino appeared to fumble the ball while under pressure. After replay, it appears that Marino drops the ball out of his hand before any pressure gets to him. He would have likely been sacked on this play, but interesting nonetheless.
