The Bills had their first home game in Week 3 of the 2022 season against the LA Chargers. Last season, the Chargers were the AFC Champs so the game plan for the Chargers was a strong focus for the coaching staff this week.
Game 3 of the season saw Jameis Whitfield’s rookie season continue strong, going 10 of 16 passes with 301 yards and 3 TDs throw the air, however he did throw 1 pick on the run that he knew he shouldn’t have thrown but he is still learning those lessons as a rookie. He also added 8 carries for 30 yards and 2 TDs on the ground. On the receiving end, Phillip Bryan and Stefon Diggs both put on a strong showing with 4 catches for 144 yards, 2 TDs and 4 catches for 145 yards and 1 TDs respectively. The offense was also bolstered by a good performance from Thurman Thomas with 7 carries for 73 yards and 2 TDs.
On the defensive side, Tremaine Edmunds was able to get another INT on the season. Tyus Bowser finally showed some defensive prowess with a forced fumble and fumble recovery plus 1 sack on the day. Ed Oliver also added another 2 sacks with Matt Milano and Max Drake also adding a sack each.
The final score ended up being 48-38 in favor of the Bills. Going into week 4, the Bills continue their home stint with the Green Bay Packers coming to town. The Packers currently sit in the top half of the NFC but the season is still early so it is hard to tell how good they really will be but with Aaron Rodgers still under center, they are still always a threat.
