MOF S61 Week #8 Game of the Week
Daddy Leagues actually got this Game of the Week right. That would be the first times since I rejoined that I agreed with the website. For week #8 we will have Coach MrWitness and the Browns taking on Coach Portis and the Football Team. Both teams are 5-1 coming into this week and both teams one loss came at the hands of Coach Estrada and the 7-0 Giants. It will be interesting to see who comes out on top this game as both teams look to make an appearance in the playoffs. The Football Team will need the win more as they are in a fight for the division against the Giants and Eagles, whereas the Browns are leading their division by three games coming into week 8.
Breaking down the Browns
So far the Browns are looking pretty impressive. The stats would show that they are either scoring a lot on defense or the defense is giving the offense a really short field. Carr has 87 completions for 1020 yards and 6 touchdowns. He does have 5 interceptions also but that is less than one a game. Chubb and Hunt both have carried the ball 60+ times but both are barely above 260 yards on the ground. It does show that he has balance between his running back committee. Carr spreads the ball around making it hard to target who he is going to throw it to and that can be a problem but from the looks of it Isabella is his main guy with 337 yards and 4 touchdowns on 19 catches. The defense is doing just what we thought. Destroying offenses with its 23 interceptions, 5 forced fumbles, and 14 sacks. Oh, did I say of the 23 interceptions that 8 were returned for touchdowns? With Myles Garrett pressuring and a ball hawking defense it surprising that they have one loss on the season.
Breaking down the Football Team
The Football Team is trying to compete in a tough division and already has one loss to the division leader. They are looking to not go back another game so this is a much needed win. With Bayless at the helm and looking pretty good completing 65% of his passes for 1260 yards. He does have 7 interceptions to go with his 7 touchdowns but that means he is only throwing on average one a game just like the browns. Love a running back has carried the rock 102 times this season and is averaging 5.2 yards a carry. Another well diverse receive group coming in with four receivers with over 240+ yards led by McLaurin who has 356 yards on 19 catches. Another outstanding defense is on the field. Led by Apke, the secondary has 27 interceptions with seven of them being pick sixes. The defense has also has nine forced fumbles and 17 sacks. Again we have a defense that has the pressure from Sweat and a ball hawking secondary it will be interesting to see how it goes.
Keys to the Game
The only key to this game is who wins the turnover battle. If one of these defenses can get the edge of that then they will win the game. Both defenses are top 10 and it will come down to this. It will be interesting to see how they will play it as both teams are balanced. I image we will see multiple drives with trading punts and it will be a game of ball position. If one Coach makes a mistake it could cost them the game. This being said I believe that the Browns squeak this one out in a defensive battle
Prediction
Browns 17-14
