New season starts well, new Jags do too.

The offseason activity saw the Jags trade for CB Josh Jackson and he paid immediate dividends as he had 3 interceptions in the Week 1 win against the Houston Texans. The defense forced 4 turnovers, and had to step up to pick up the slack as the offense sputtered a bit. "We got some things done today, namely the turnovers but we need to put in a lot of work after we watch the film because out pass rush was not there and we committed too many turnovers. People cannot live off of last seasons' record because it means nothing. Work needs to be consistent THIS year".

The offense was a different story as QB Gardner Minshew threw 2ints and looked unsettled all game. The running game nver got off the ground, no pun intended, even though they scored 3TDS. "The Texans did a good job mixing things up and got Min off his spot a bit. We sustained a couple injuries during the game to our offensive line and it showed when we tried to hold the rush. Next man up and get it done", were poignant words from the head coach.

RG BJ Woods did sustain a shoulder injury that will keep hi out a few weeks and DT Tim Jernigan also dislocated his shoulder and will miss some time as well. Still early, so heal up and come back to play ball.
