The Falcons have known what it is like to have a guy in the secondary to seemingly be wielding Thor's hammer when making big hits. Keanu Neal roamed the Falcons secondary for years and always tackled with bad intentions. Today, the Falcons faced the Seahawks and their "Hulk Smash" safety Jamal Adams.
Nevertheless, the Falcons prevailed 38-31 on the road in Seattle, but it was far from easy.
The Falcons got the ball first and proceeded to drive down the field. But while inside the 20, T Gurley tried to lateral to ......SOMEONE.....and ended up fumbling the ball back to Seattle. (Hit the wrong button) The Seahawks capitalized early with a long 73 yard pass to young beast DK Metcalf to put Seattle up 7-0 early.
Gurley would shake off the fumble and on the ensuing drive punched in a touchdown to tie the score at 7-7. He would finish the day with 24 carries and 127 yards, 2 rushing touchdowns, 8 grabs for 90 yards and a touchdown.
Falcons jumped out to a 21-7 lead after a K Sheffield pick, another Gurley score and then on the next knockoff, backup LB B Foote forced a fumble and LB M Walker picked it up and ran it in.
The Falcons defense accounted for 5 ints, 2 FF and 4 sacks on the day. But Jamal Adams didn't make it easy. He forced 2 fumbles late in the game that set up scores to make it a one possession game late. DE K Holmes added a FF for the Seahawks.
SS D Duke sealed the win with a late pick and the Falcons was able to kneel it out.
Next week, division rival Saints in Week 16.
