The Falcons season continues to go downhill after a Week 14 home loss to the Panthers 30-10.
In this rematch, the Falcons just couldn't get their offense going. T Gurley was held to just 31 yards on the ground on 12 carries (despite catching 7 balls for 91 yards. But Gurley's increased workload in the passing game was due to J Jones and C Ridley being blanketed by Panther's cornerback to the tune that both receivers totaled just 1 catch for 17 yards.
The slack was taken up by TE H Hurst who went for 7 catches for 118 yards. Even TE K Warring chipped in 3 catches and 44 yards.
On the day, M Ryan was 20 for 33 for 285, but a early pick on a downfield pass intended for C Ridley and a 3rd quarter fumble that lead to a scoop and score made it difficult the Falcons to rally.
Defensively, the Falcons held their own. But because the offense kept stalling, the defense eventually bent to the will of CMC who had 161 yards on 28 carries. And if not for 2 holding calls, he may have well been over 200 yards with multiple touchdowns.
Next up; travel to the Northwest corner to face the Seahawks.
