From the opening drive, you could tell things were just off for the Falcons. On RB T Gurley's especially carry of the game, he seemingly had a hole to run through but for some reason lateraled the ball all the way back to QB M Ryan who was tackled for a 15 yard loss. And even though on the very next play Ryan hit WR C Ridley for a 95 yard td, things still just did not feel right, especially on offense.
M Ryan would proceed to throw for 435 yards, but in the process also tosses 8 interceptions, included a pick 6 to end the 2nd half on a play where he had TE H Hurst open for a touchdown. RB T Gurley was held to 24 yards on just 8 carries, which is not how the Falcons like to operate.
The defense, as a whole, didn't play that bad. Yes, they failed to get any turnovers, but because the offense kept putting them back on the field after all those picks, they got worn down and surrendered points.
But there is little time for pity parties, as they face the NFC favorite to get to the Superbowl NY Giants in week 4 and their newly acquired stud WR DJ Moore from Carolina.
