MCL Season 3
Top 10 Power Rankings
1.) HB (Steelers) *Back-2-back SB Champ* - HB is an experienced madden player who knows how to get the job done. With SB rings in the first two seasons, I expect him to go deep into the playoffs if not another SB appearance.
a. Offense: he’s ranked 2nd in scoring (28.0/game), 8th in passing yards (231.5/game), and 9th in rushing yards (94.7/game). *Martavis Bryant leads the team with 61 receptions 1237 yards and 17 TDs*
b. Defense: HB ranks 1st in points allowed (8.0/game), 1st in yards allowed (181.4/game), 1st in passing yards allowed (137/game), and 3rd in rushing yards allowed (44.4/game) *Ryan Shazier is having another great year with 18 tackles, 12 INTs, 2 FFs, and 2 TDs*
2.) Gates (Cardinals)– Gates is a known player from the good ole USFL days. I expect to see him and Winston battling for the NFC Championship once again. He won the head-2-head against the Eagles a couple of weeks ago and has stayed unbeaten thus far. With a conservative offense and defense, he’s aiming to take advantage of the impatient ballers.
a. Offense: 6th in scoring (26.0/game), 1st in passing yards (286.2/game), and 30th in rushing (58.5) * Michael Floyd leads the team in receptions and yards with 62 and 908 yards respectively.*
b. Defense: 2nd in points allowed (11.0/game), 6th in yards allowed, 6th in passing yards allowed (177.0/game), and 1st in rushing yards allowed (33.0/game) *Patrick Peterson is proving to be a ball hawk once again with 5 INTs and 22 tackles*
3.) Jibri (Chargers) – Hard for me to admit that the Chargers are having a solid year but he has made the playoffs in the previous two seasons. Seems to have worked out a few loose ends and Gordon is rolling along this season. There’s no doubt that the talent level in the AFC is deep so with the Chargers rolling it’ll be interesting to how far they’ll go.
a. Offense: 7th in scoring (26.0/game), 23rd in passing yards (186.3/game), and 1st in rushing (140.3/game). *Melvin leads the league in rushing with 1328 yards. *
b. Defense: 12th in points allowed (12.0), 12th in yards allowed (271.5/game), 17th in passing yards allowed (209.5), and 5th in rushing yards allowed (62.0/game). *Ingram is currently tied for the sack leader position with 18 on the season.*
4.) Winston (Eagles) – Winston has made the SB previously losing to the almighty Steelers. He’s recently taken a loss to Gates but expect him to bounce back and finish the season off strong. Karlos Williams is having another strong season and expect him to be the work horse in the playoffs. My opinion is set that Gates and Winston will battle for the SB berth in the conference championship.
a. Offense: 10th in scoring (24.0/game), 21st ranked passing offense (193.2/game), and 5th in rushing averaging (101.2/game) *Karlos Williams w/ 998 rushing yards and 9 TDs.*
b. Defense: 6th in points allowed (14.0/game), 8th in yards allowed (256.0/game), 18th in passing yards allowed (214.9/game), and 2nd in rushing yards allowed (41.1/game) *Fletcher Cox leads the defense with 11 sacks*
5.) Stapes (Colts) – Stapes has proven that he can hang with the big boys after beating playoff caliber teams like the Chargers, Eagles, and Texans. He currently leads the AFC South and it’ll more than likely come down to the Week 13 matchup on who takes the title. Either way expect Colts to be in the playoffs looking to make some noise. Only question is, can his offense survive relying solely on the pass game?
a. Offense: Stapes was hit with terrible news when Andrew Luck had to miss a few weeks. However, he’s survived and combined for 3000+ yards passing so far this season. He currently has the 8th ranked scoring offense (26.0/game), 3rd ranked total offense (366.2/game), 2nd ranked pass offense (298.6/game), and 28th ranked rush offense (67.6/game). He has spread the ball out pretty evenly between his top three receivers. *T.Y. Hilton leads with 53 receptions and 976 yards on the season.*
b. Defense: Stapes defense has been solid especially with the addition of his 92 speed OLB. Expect passes over the middle to be treacherous waters. His defense currently ranks 13th for points allowed (19.0/game), 7th for total yards (280.7/game), 7th for passing yards (201.1/game), and 7th for rushing yards allowed (79.6/game). *Jeffries leads the way with 17 tackles, 2 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, 1 INT, and 3 Defensive TDs.*
6.) Ruck (Texans) – Won’t toot the horn here other than stating that the 3 losses came in the first 5 games where we lost against Steelers, Eagles, and Colts while beating Bills and the Chargers. The combined points of those three losses were 9 points. With the Giants beating the Colts, the Texans are back in the hunt for the AFC South title. That Week 13 matchup will be crucial.
a. Offense: The offense hasn’t been great but somehow managing to hang in there. Currently, 9th in points scored (25.0/game), 14th in total yards (295.2/game), 20th in passing yards (204.7/game), and 11th in rushing (90.5/game). *Jaelen Strong is having a decent year with 35 receptions and 610 yards with 5 TDs.*
b. Defense: Anyone that scouts, knows that the D-Line here makes this defense. Currently, 7th in points allowed (16.0/game), 14th in passing yards allowed (203.3/game), and 4th in rushing yards allowed (60.0/game). *Donald is tied for the sack leader with 18 sacks*
7.) Tricky (Patriots) –Tricky has played well with his squad and won the games he was supposed to. However, anytime you fail to put on a touchdown on a playoff hopeful team; that raises some alarming signs. He’s pretty much guaranteed a playoff berth so we’ll see what he can do.
a. Offense: 18th in points scored (21.0/game), 16th in total yards (294.2/game), 11th in passing yards (217.9/game, 14th in rushing yards (76.3/game). * Jason Poe has been a huge target for Tricky this year with 1217 yards receiving and 9 TDs*
b. Defense: 10th ranked scoring defense, 19th in total yards (299.6/game), 24th in passing yards allowed (223.7/game), and 13th in rush defense (75.9/game). *MVP Candidate Travis Feeney leads the league in a record setting fashion with 22 INTs and 24 tackles.*
8.) Trax (Browns) – 8-10 is really a toss-up. He has played solid with how shitty of a roster he was handed. Unfortunately, he plays HB twice a season and will have to push for a wildcard spot. Expect him to continue building and become a top contender. His matchup against PYA should give us a better idea of what to expect.
a. Offense: 5th in scoring with (26.0/game), 18th in total yards (287.4/game), 26th in passing yards (176.2/game), 3rd in rushing yards (111.2/game). *Keevin Parson leads the way for Trax’s offense with 1114 rushing yards and 16 total TDs.*
b. Defense: 14th in points allowed (20.0/game), 15th in yards allowed (283.5/game), 16th in passing yards allowed (208.5/game, and 12th in rushing yards allowed (75.0/game). *Anton Robinson seems to have the biggest impact with 23 tackles, 9 sacks, 5 forced fumbles, and 1 INT.*
9.) BubingaKing (Bears) – Flying under the radar is the Chicago Bears! Currently, they sit atop their division with a 4-1 record and 8-3 overall. With some big moves, they acquired Blake Bortles and Derick Henry who have been HUGE for the Bears. The question is can they get past Winston or Gates? Slip by one and you could have a real shot at the SB.
a. Offense: 4th in points scored (26.0/game), 2nd in total yards (367.0/game), 7th in passing yards (260.8), and 7th in rushing yards (106.2/game). *Derick Henry is on pace to crack 1000 yards while Blake Bortles is still working to get comfortable with the system.*
b. Defense: 16th in points allowed (20.0/game), 13th in total yards allowed (304.7), 12th in passing yards allowed (212.2/game), and 18th in rushing yards allowed (92.5/game). *Anthony Hitchens leads the defense with 42 tackles, 8 sacks, and 3 forced fumbles.*
10.) Pya (Chiefs) – Pya and his Todd Gurley… He is currently fighting for a wildcard spot which could easily be swapped with the Browns if he loses their matchup. He’s yet to be a playoff hopeful team this season which is why he fell to #10. He currently has Browns, Colts, and Cardinals left on his schedule…
a. Offense: 13th in points scored (22.0/game), 11th in total yards (302.2/game), 29th in passing yards (165.6/game), and 2nd in rushing yards (136.5/game). *Todd Gurley leads the way with 1224 rushing yards and 9 TDs averaging 5.6 yards a carry.*
b. Defense: 5th in points allowed (14.0/game), 3rd in total yards allowed (247.7/game), 4th in passing yards allowed (174.1/game), and 8th in rushing yards allowed (73.6/game). *Justin Houston has had a big year with 29 tackles, 10 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, and 3 TDs*
Teams on the bubble: Rams, Titans, Giants, and Saints.
