Lamar Jackson Pick Meltdown

Lamar Jackson threw for a horrible 8 completions on 24 attempts on his season opener as a 1 year starter this Sunday against the Rams - an opener of which resulted in 9 interceptions, and only 81 yards combined rushing and passing on the day. With stats like this, along with the Rams playing a majority of backups throughout the game while having a blowout 70-7 victory.

At this point in time, it's hard to speculate as to whether the Ravens just had a horrible home opener, or the Rams are certainly a team to beat - or a combination of both following the Rams 70 to 7 blowout victory this opening Sunday... The question still does remain though, why did Lamar Jackson continue to play throughout the game and why wasn't he benched? It draws a lot of attention to the rest of the Quarterback competition in Baltimore if Lamar can post numbers like this and remain the starter going into the 2nd half along with the coming weeks. Maybe we'll see a turnaround in week 2 and beyond, but regardless of how you look at it, this week is a serious confidence shatterer for the young Quarterback.

One thing is definitely certain though, the Rams made an immediate statement to their upcoming competition early in the season after this game.
