Packers Recap Through 4 Games

by Sliptom | 4 years ago | 1 Comments

At the quarter point of the regular season, the Packers currently sit at 2-2 and tied for the lead of the NFC North. The team has been maddeningly inconsistent, at times looking dominant and at other times looking like a burning dumpster fire. In his first season as the starter, QB Jordan Love's play has followed a similar inconsistent pattern. Thankfully for the team and its fans, the team has been much better the last two weeks, winning two key divisional matchups against the Bears and Lions (oh my) to fight back into contention for the division. HB Aaron Jones has continued his excellent play, with some fans demanding the coaching staff feed him the ball more. At WR, free agent pickup Marquise Goodwin has been solid, however there are rumors that the team is looking to get rookie WR Will Washington more involved. Defensively, 2nd year MLB Marcus Groves leads the team in tackles with 16, while 2nd year EDGE player George Patton, a disappointment so far considering his draft status, leads the team with sacks with 2. Kevin King and Adrian Amos are tied for the team lead in INTs with 2 each, and King returned one of his picks for a spectacular TD against the Lions. Off the field, the team announced they re-signed star CB Jaire Alexander to a massive deal. There are rumors that the team is having internal debates regarding whether to extend EDGE Za'Darius Smith and DB Adrian Amos. Star WR Davante Adams appeared visibly frustrated over a lack of touches against the Bears, however seemed content after catching 5 balls in the win over the Lions.
