1. Patrick Wendell, QB - Penn St: 83.46
Wendell's athleticism gives him the edge here over fellow prospects O'Connell and Bowman, as he grades out as our top prospect as we roll into Seperation Saturday in college football this weekend. Wendell will look to lead the Nittany Lions to a prosperous winter as Penn State is in play for a conference title and the College Football Playoff and the senior looks to be on the shortlist for numerous national awards.
2. Will O'Connell, QB - Louisville: 81.99
While Louisville has been unable to dethrone Clemson for ACC supremacy, O'Connell has wowed scouts with his decision making and quick progression through reads. NFL scouts will no doubt will converge on Death Valley to watch O'Connell and Crimson running back fellow top 10 prospect Victor Rutledge take the field in what should be a barn burner.
3. Noah Shields, TE - Illinois St: 80.73
Shields looks to be the best prospect in what should be a very rich class at the tight end position this year. Shields has put together a dominant season after sitting out a year once he made the decision to leave Stanford and return to Illinois to be closer to his family. A strong Senior Bowl and combine will but this former 5 star recruit in the first round of this year's draft.
4. Antoine Derr, SS - Stanford: 80.64
Derr's versatility will make him an intriguing propsect as the draft process unfolds, as he has played every position in the secondary for the Cardinal. His best fit may be as a box safety, with the length and athleticism to play in sub packages as well. Look for Derr's stock to continue to raise as the months pass.
5. Marquee Sweeting, MLB - Ole Miss: 78.55
Sweeting leads the nation in tackles for loss heading into the weekend, and figures to be the prohibitve favorite for SEC Defensive Player of the Year as the key cog on a defense that figures to have Ole Miss in a New Year's Day bowl. Doesn't hurt that this year's ILB class isn't particular deep, but Sweeting projects to be a top 10 pick come April of next year.
6. Tate Davenport, WR - Pittsburgh: 78.06
Davenport is following up a breakout junior season with a stellar senior campaign, amassing nearly 1,600 yards and 15 TDs with two games still remaining on the schedule. He's been the lone bright spot in an otherwise abysmal season for Pitt. His catch radius may be the best in college football, and surely will be his best asset at the next level.
7. Victor Rutledge, HB - Clemson: 77.90
Rutledge has been a battering ram in Clemson's no.1 offense, as he's on pace to eclipse 1,500 yards and 15 TDs on the season. Rutedge routinely breaks one-on-one tackles and has shown flashes of breakway speed in the open field as well for the Tigers. GMs and scouts will need to see his pass catching ability, but Rutledge more than likely will be the first RB off the board and more than likely will be a top 15 pick this year.
8. Bronson Bowman, QB - Miami (FL): 77.83
Bowman's arm talent is undeniable, but this season has done nothing to assuage the questions of his accuracy since he arrived at Coral Gables. Bowman's completion percentage has never been above 62%, but he can make every throw and will be a tantalizing prospect for scouts this spring. B2 more than likely will be the second or third QB taken in this draft and probably in the top 20 at that.
9. Tyrone Salley, T - Texas A&M: 76.67
Salley followed Jimbo Fisher from Tallahassee to College Station after the coach left Florida State for Texas A&M and the SEC West. That looks to have been a smart choice, because after two strong seasons for the Aggies -- Salley appears to be the best OL prospect in this class and more than likely move to the left side at the next level.
10. Cortez Baker, S - Notre Dame: 76.32
Baker's calling card will be his ball skills at the next level, as he tracks and attacks the football in the air better than any other defender in this class. While his aggression has gottne him to trouble at times in South Bend, Baker's instincts simply cannot be teached and will be an asset for him in the right system on Sundays. Since arriving at Notre Dame, Baker leads the nation in interceptions and pass breakups (32).
