In recent weeks the Los Angeles Chargers front office has been working diligently in efforts to reflect new Head Coach Bossica's playstyle. He believes the game is won in the trenches, he believes in a deep and stable Offensive Line and they may have completed two deals to get that done.
The first deal shipped out expiring corner Jason Verrett, who no question had lock down abilities, when he was on the field. But Eric Reid signing as a Free Agent, Derwin James falling to them in the draft all pairing with Verretts health concerns and his return after this year uncertain, it became evident he was the odd man out of an already deep secondary. This lead to them ultimately dealing him to the Titans for Franchise Tackle Jack Conklin, who was shocklingly available.
The second deal saw dynamic wideout Tryrell Williams and Field General Denzel Perryman shipped out to New England for Offensive Line Captain David Andrews and Rookie Wideout Braxton Berrios. Managment worked at all hours of the night to bring in Andrews who is widely considered the heart and soul of that Patriots Offensive Line. He will immediately step into the Center spot of the Chargers O-line and be a leader despite being just 26 years old. This young offensive line has immense potential to grow quickly and develop into one of the premier offensive lines in the league for a long long time.
You can be sure Coach Bossica approves of these moves, as well as Melvin Gordon and franchise Quarterback Philip Rivers due to impact these moves could have on their abilities. Only time will tell in regards to how this all plays out, but we feel these were the right moves for todays team, and for the future as well.
