BIRDS HAND BILLS FIRST LOSS, BUT HURTS NEEDS TO AIR IT OUT

South Philly was electric as the Eagles shocked the undefeated Bills, 37-27, in a game that felt like a statement—at least for one side of the ball. The defense came to eat, forcing Josh Allen into four brutal interceptions—two by Reed Blankenship, one from Zack Baun, and another by Nolan Smith Jr. And when Buffalo had a glimmer of hope? Josh Sweat slammed the door with a clutch third-down sack.

Offensively, it was The AJ Brown Show. The man went full superhero, hauling in 140 yards and two touchdowns, including an insane 89-yard bomb before halftime that sent the Linc into a frenzy. Dallas Goedert chipped in with another TD, but the run game? Ugly. Kenneth Gainwell got 25 carries for 69 yards—not exactly striking fear into defenses.

And then there’s Jalen Hurts. Yeah, he was efficient—8/10, 161 yards, 3 TDs—but TEN PASSES?! What are we doing here? This is 2025, not 1925. It’s easy to look good when AJB is torching dudes, but at some point, Hurts needs to take over a game, not just manage it. The defense won this one, plain and simple.

Still, a huge win that puts the league on notice. The Birds are back. But if they want to make a real run? Hurts has to be more than a passenger.

For now? Go Birds.
