INDIANAPOLIS, IN — As the Colts prepare for the 2025 season, head coach Brooks Granger offered a glimpse into the team’s plans for Anthony Richardson, the young quarterback poised to lead the offense this coming year. Although Richardson was absent from today’s press conference, Granger emphasized the critical development the QB has made since his rookie season. "Anthony has been working tirelessly to refine his game," Granger explained. "We’ve seen tremendous growth in his mechanics, decision-making, and overall understanding of the game."

Granger specifically highlighted Richardson’s focus on becoming more consistent in his reads and staying poised under pressure. "Last year, Anthony showed flashes of brilliance, but the next step is to make those big plays more consistently. He’s been dedicating himself to that," said Granger. "He’s always had the physical talent—his arm strength and mobility are special—but now it’s about making the right decisions faster."

The Colts coach also touched on Richardson’s leadership growth, acknowledging that the young quarterback has embraced his role as the face of the offense. "After last season, Anthony took great strides to fix the issues internally and his maturity as a leader has really stood out to us," Granger remarked. "He’s been stepping up not only on the field but off it, rallying his teammates and fostering a strong sense of camaraderie within the locker room."

Looking ahead to the 2025 season, Granger expressed confidence that Richardson’s continued development would be key to the Colts’ success. "We’re excited to see what Year 2 holds for Anthony," Granger concluded. "The work he’s put in this offseason is going to pay off, and we believe he’ll lead this team with the confidence and skill we need to make a deep run."
