Lions call up Rookies after roster cuts

After a week of roster moves for the Lions that has seen Kenny Golladay, Jamal Agnew cut, and Raheem Mostert at tryouts, the Lions add a rookie TE John Kendrick from the Chiefs practice squad and Justin Shorter WR from the falcons .

Kendrick, who played his college ball at Georgia, has played at outsizing his competition for a few years now. At 6'9" the Lions are exercising him at wide receiver and tight end. Now filling in the 52nd spot, the Lions look for another player to finalize the roster before next week's game vs Philly.

Shorter, a WR who played at the small Div I Baker Wildcats, is what the couch boys would call a sleeper. Scouts are hoping he turns into a Edelman type of prospect at least through this year. The Lions are excersizing his contract through the week and hope to add him as the 53rd player.
