Week 8 Lions Press Conference

 

Head Coach Ben Johnson:

 

"Well uh, that was a odd last few weeks huh. Let's get to it, we blew out LA, we dominated in the passing game. We got back on track, from weeks of veering off the path. 

I think when you look at our team and how they can hold together that game was an example of it. Um, there's one thing I'd like to talk about, get this out of the way.

 

You guys have been saying on the feed: It's week 8, boo! Lions fans go crazy! What'll happen! 

 

I'll make it clear to everyone out there that Jared Goff is our Quarterback. End of the year, who knows. But right now we have a system that is working, and a system that can right itself when it heads in the wrong direction. But... I'm sure the tickers are gonna start rolling out something we just did, to bolster our position in this league. This last week was an A+ what else do you what? We had a pick Amon was short on and had his feet caught up on himself but other than that it was a beat down. But it is hard having a Quarterback room that is both on 1-year remaining deals. Hard to say otherwise. We're working on it. And we've solved the situation for now.

I think we timed our conference pretty well, hard to hold back that we just traded for Brock Purdy and moved Davis Mills to Miami. We're very happy and look forward to seeing Brock play well here in Detroit and get experience behind our QB1, and we very much enjoyed the time we had with Davis, he'll get his chance to start and kick a**. We had a discussion and it's clear it was time to let him flourish, especially after we got him out of Houston and he's done nothing but good here with us when we really needed it. 
 

Let's make this clear while we're still here, this is Jared Goff's Team. We will excercise the option in the offseason, and we'll excercise our option to keep a strong QB at the position.
