Lions Walter Peyton Man of the Year Nomination

The Lions proudly select Jared Goff as their Walter Payton Man of the Year nomination.

It's been coming to this for a while, before and after each season he's been here Jared has been busy working off the field in the community. Jared, who was traded for Stafford a few years ago, has put down roots here in Detroit and has been contributing to the community through many different avenues of charity, social work, and his commitment to working with local schools and their programs.

Jared's dedication to local Michigan foundations like Chad Tough defeat DIPG, and his own JG16 program have set him apart and showed the city of Detroit there's more to the Golden Bear himself.

"It's one thing to say who you are and another thing to actually do it, ultimately being recognized for that is great and an honor, but it's about the people that you're giving back to. It's about wrapping your arms around a community, and the kids and making sure you're there for them. I think it's part of our job, you know, as our quarterback, and when you're in the situation like I am financially, it's important to help and lend a hand, financially and as myself."

Jared has done so much the past year and since the day he landed here in Detroit, we're proud to name him as the Detroit Lions Walter Payton Man of the Year, and our nomination for the national award.
