AMLoB NFC East Review of Madden 18 and Preview of Madden 19

NFC East Preview

 

Philadelphia Eagles

 

  • Review of Seasons 6-13: Leading off with the Eagles who won the most division titles in Madden 18 for the NFC East, their cycle wasn’t too great with a 58-70 overall record but luckily the division as a whole wasn’t great either. They had the most wins in the division which doesn’t really say much considering the success game in 3 seasons from 2 different users. Chris made the playoffs at 10-6 in the 4th season of the cycle and then Levi came in behind that with 2 more 10-6 seasons before he moved on to another team. That was a very bright spot in the team’s cycle that looked like it would continue before another regime change. I think this team could’ve had more success had there been more consistency as far as someone running the team, but the same could be said for any of these NFC East teams. It’s been joked about in the league as being the NFC Least and looking at this Eagles squad being the most successful team give credence to that statement.
  • Preview to Madden 19: Heading into the Madden 19 cycle I think that this team will be a lot better, especially with a stable user at the helm. The Eagles are loaded and by far the best team roster wise in the league with plenty of good young guys especially at QB with Carson Wentz. Sports has had success in the league before reaching conference championships in 2 straight seasons and had a Super Bowl appearance. Giving him such a talented team from the jump could be a big problem everyone is gonna have to deal with, so I guess in this instance the biggest thing is how far can he take this team and how will he continue to build on such an amazing foundation.

 

Dallas Cowboys

 

  • Review of Seasons 6-13: The Cowboys got off to a 10-6 start and outside of one more season they never really caught the magic. They ended with the least amount of division titles capturing just 1 and only have 2 playoff appearances across the Madden 18 cycle. Not having a stable user til the last couple seasons stunted this team’s growth and ability to sustain as they built around the young talents on the team. They finished with the worst record in the division overall at 47-80-1 and lost both playoff games they played in. For a team that had such a nice core to build around they didn’t quite flourish the way most thought that they would. Just like every other team in the division it’s all about consistency so hopefully in Madden 19 it isn’t a revolving door of users for a very talented team.
  • Preview to Madden 19: The Cowboys will hopefully have a more stable base in Madden 19’s cycle as Isaiah looks to take this team to new heights like they haven’t seen since Madden 17. The success of this team will be determined by how well Isaiah can build on the already really talented squad. He’s shown the ability to make it happen elsewhere so he’s hoping that translates to AMLoB in Madden 19 and take this division over. The division should be a tougher one this year as they look to help get rid of the NFC Least moniker. This very well could be a major piece in a potentially exciting division race. Look for Zeke to play a huge part in this team’s success in the next cycle.

 

New York Giants

 

  • Review of Seasons 6-13: The Giants had a cycle similar to their division rival Eagles with most of their success coming in a couple seasons. They posted a mark of 55-72-1 across the cycle winning just 2 division titles that led to their only two playoff berths. The most successful user this team had out of the many is Arthur who looks to build on his success with this team as he takes them in Madden 19. This team struggled to draft good players and develop the existing talent they had. Outside of OBJ there weren’t many players of note and the QB position never got addressed after Eli. This team was a mess on both sides of the ball and couldn’t hit on picks in the draft and when they did, those pieces were traded away for lesser value due to the lack of ability to develop guys. Not having a stable guy hurt this team a lot this cycle and was thought to watch.
  • Preview to Madden 19: As Arthur looks to Madden 19 and build this team to where he wants it, there are some really good pieces on both sides of the ball. On offense you got the rookie Saquon who should come in and make an immediate impact for this team to go along with a good young receiving core. The big question will be how he plans to replace Eli with holes elsewhere on the team too. The foundational pieces on which this team can be built are good starting blocks and this team could very well be in the mix in what has the potential to be a tough division. Arthur has shown he can do well in the league before so let’s see if he can show the rest of his division mates that he can compete well.

 

Washington Redskins

 

  • Review of Seasons 6-13: The skins had a tough go at it during the Madden 18 cycle. They only posted a mark of 50-77-1 despite being the only team in the division with a playoff win coming in at 1-2 in the playoffs. They looked like they were on the brink late in the CFM before user inactivity started to bring the team back down to earth. This team didn’t draft had at all but the development of the players didn’t go well at all especially with some of the good selections they had later in the cycle. This team was the 2nd worst team in the division and one of the worst in the cycle for the league with another user consistency problem which is the theme of the division.
  • Preview to Madden 19: Looking into Madden 19, I think the skins could have a tough go at it. New user that hasn’t been in the league long, not a lot of talent on the team and a tough division doesn’t bode well. It’ll be interesting to see if this team goes into straight rebuild mode or decides to take on vets in hopes of early returns on investment. With talented division mates, this will be a tall task for the Skins to pull off but if they draft and develop well who knows where this team can end up. 

 

Division Predictions

 

  • Most Successful: I think this is gonna end up being the Eagles with that almost overwhelmingly talented squad. They have everything necessary to carry success across the entire cycle from the roster to the user this definitely could be something spectacular to see with this team.
  • User(s) to Watch: Isaiah has done well in leagues before this one so it’ll be interesting watching him handle this Cowboys team. He has great pieces that he can either dangle for trades or build on what he has. A couple of really good drafts and development and this team could be a problem in a loaded NFC.
  • Team That Will Struggle: the Skins just lack the talent to really grow without really good roster moves, it’s as simple as that. They have to draft well, develop well and make good trades in order to build this roster to a contender. We still don’t know just how good Spider is yet either which also plays a major part.
  • Breakout Star: I think that Zeke will be huge in this division. Most times you’d probably see a QB here but Zeke has a great OL to run behind and is just a crazy talent in the backfield with a user that can make it happen on the ground. Zeke should have an exciting Madden 19.
  • Most Likely to Win a Super Bowl: The Eagles could get this done as soon as season 1 with all the talent on the roster. The NFC is loaded which will make it tough but there is a nice possibility you could see the Eagles grab their first in league history
