AMLoB Super Bowl XII

 

Here we are at the week of Super Bowl XII after a tough season with a lot of good teams, including three 10 win teams that didn’t make the playoffs. After this long season we have the 15-1 Jets and the 15-1 Panthers meeting in the Super Bowl. The Jets have been overachievers like we haven’t seen in some time with the new coach coming in and going 15-1 along with some really good playoff wins. The Panthers have been on a tear this season especially after the loss to the Jags in week 2 as they’ve proven over the last 3 seasons to be as good as advertised. This will be the Jets first Super Bowl appearance in league history as they look to get their first win as well in their coach’s debut season, while this will be the Panthers coach 3rd appearance in league history and 2nd appearance in 3 seasons including a win only a couple seasons ago.

 

Now that we have the background let’s get into the game. The Jets have been big time this season with the #1 passing offense and forcing a lot of turnovers and sacks in a completely reworked Jets team than the previous season. This was on display in the playoffs against the tough Chiefs team and the formerly undefeated Browns. The Panthers have been strong on defense which is what we expect but the offense has looked great too with the addition of Dixon Cox. This game should be a great one as the #1 passing O goes against the #1 pass D. Many experts believe that when it comes down to it the Panthers defense will prevail and make it happen, but we shall see because this Jets team is playing great football right now. All in all I think the defense of the Panthers holds strong and they win a tight one.
