1.) Cleveland Browns (16-0)

The Browns have put together one of the most masterful season in league history by finishing with a 16-0 record in the regular season, which hasn’t been done before in league history. This Browns team has ran roughshod over most opponents and outside of two wins against his division rival by a combined 8 points, and a game against the top 5 9ers he won by 9. He hasn’t had a game decided by less than double digits. Some experts are picking this team to ride this momentum to a potential super bowl appearance and a couple have even picked them to win. West, Mach, Godspeed and Mixon are getting it done on O and a slew of defensive game changers, this team could be in for a special run. We’ll be able to tell after their much earned bye in the wild card.

2.) Carolina Panthers (15-1)

It’s rare that people say a 15-1 season is as impressive as an undefeated one, but according to some experts this Panthers team is more 1B than an actual #2. Tough wins are all across this schedule and with what looks like a distant memory from the tough loss to the Jags, this team looks playoff ready. Coming off a tough win against the Lions where the defense showed how elite they still are, the offense showed up in week 17 just pounding the Bears as well as another strong performance on defense. Kizer’s been connecting with Cox and Sutton at an extreme rate with good production from Peprah, Curry is back into the mix and CMC is back to pro bowl form with a host of big time guys on defense. This team looks like they’re on a collision course with #1 so stay tuned.

[Prev. Rank: 3]

3.) Detroit Lions (13-3)

The Lions have been as impressive as any other teams this season with a revitalized feel after their new coach has returned them to form. Between Lewerke and his immediate connection with new WR Fairley this offense has looked potent all season. The defense has been strong too as shown in what could be a potential battle for the NFC title against the #2 Panthers in week 16. The Lions coach has this team coached up and they believe they have a shot at a title this season. With the playoffs being here this team should be interesting to see how they handle it. This team has struggled in the past in the playoffs and the new coach plans to change that history in Detroit as they seek their first Super Bowl in league history.

4.) New York Jets (15-1)

The 2 seed in the AFC has earned themselves a bye week with a stellar regular season. Taking a team that had a top 10 pick last season, that was traded away in order to make moves to be in this position, into a 15-1 record is something phenomenal to see. The new coach has this team confident and believing in themselves and they honestly feel they can capture a Super Bowl this season. Watson looks like the favorite for MVP and the receiving corps looks just as good with Westbrook, Hughes and Williams all going over 1,100 receiving yards. The defense played great just like the offense did with a completely new secondary filled with scheme skilled vets. Watch as this team tries to win a Super Bowl in a tough AFC playoff picture.

[Prev. Rank: 6]

5.) San Francisco 49ers (14-2)

This Roger Tapia and Benny Snell Jr led 9ers team has been really good this season. Finishing at 14-2 after a 9-0 start is not bad at all when the only 2 losses are to top 10 teams. The 9ers look like a team that can contend for a Super Bowl after taking the division from the Cards in a very successful season. Snell has brought balance to this coach’s scheme like he’s never had before along with the legs of Tapia. Watching this offense this season has definitely been something to wafch and the standout on a very speedy defensive line has been Davenport just pouring it on a season after Chubb made it look easy for this defense as well. It’ll be interesting to see how this postseason plays out for this team considering experts have said they’ve been good, not great this season.

[Prev. Rank: 3]

6.) New England Patriots (12-4)

The Patriots have been a really good team this season overall despite a very pedestrian 3-3 finish. I think the season still was a really big step forward especially as they were just out of the playoffs last season and they made sure not to blow that opportunity this time around. The team isn’t quite as talented as the other teams in the top 10 which makes the record look all the more impressive. McNabb and Cooks got on the same page relatively quickly and the Talbott/Boyett combo proved to be great on the ground as they combined for 29 rushing touchdowns and Boyett chipped in with 3 more on the receiving end. The Patriots have played really good football even though they appear to be stumbling into the postseason, but once you make it anything can happen.

[Prev. Rank: 3]

7.) Cincinnati Bengals (11-5)

Farley has this Bengals team looking refreshed after dealing with a lot of distractions the last two seasons. This team is back to looking like the team that made consecutive Super Bowls and Farley has been a big part of that. Farley has been impressive this season looking to be the dominant back we knew him to be after his stellar rookie year some seasons back. Fiedler has done solid work at the QB position as a rookie who sometimes struggles but continues to grow even with limited play making at the WR position aside from John Ross. Looking at the defense their window is closing due to age but this team looks primed and ready for at least one final stand this postseason. Quite a few aging parts on this defense but can these vets capture a Super Bowl this season.

[Prev. Rank: 8]

8.) Kansas City Chiefs (11-5)

The Chiefs have been impressive this season with the help of a new weapon in this WR corps. Tarrant has looked like a monster this season in his rookie campaign along with one of the league’s best in Battle and one of the league’s fastest in Tyreek. Giving Mahomes this group has payed dividends for this team and the pieces added on defense could make for a sight to see with the postseason upon us. This secondary has worked great with the addition of the rookie nicknamed “Toe” and that gave them the ability to shift the aging Peters back to safety to make plays. Landrum looks like he’ll finely get the pro bowl nod he’s deserved and this unit is functioning really well. This team could make a run as they try to take on this gauntlet in the AFC for not only an appearance but a win.

[Prev. Rank: 7]

9.) Arizona Cardinals (11-5)

The Cards have played solid football this season with their 5 losses coming to top 10 teams, including 4 losses to top 5 teams. Other than those tough games the Cards have looked good and with the injury to Moffitt it seems like Hangartner and the coach are back on good terms. The defense has taken a hit as they’ve lost some important pieces but they are starting to get back on track and the offense with Hangartner has looked just as potent as it ever has with Logan toting the rock again. This team has definitely taken a step back from the 15-1 super bowl run they had last season but with Hangartner back under center there’s no telling what this teams ceiling is. Can this team make another run at it as Hangartner tried to capture Super Bowl #3 for this team?

[Prev. Rank: 10]

10.) Jacksonville Jaguars (11-5)

The Jags have been good this year aside from when their coach took a leave of absence leading to 3 straight losses. Huston played really good football in his rookie season despite Fournette not being able to stay healthy. If you look at the stats this team doesn’t have much that pops out at you but as a unit this team went 11-5 which shows you what they’re capable of. Having to matchup against the Bengals in round one should prove to be a good one as this team looks to make their first super bowl in league history. The total rushing attack still managed to be 3rd in the league despite no one having more than 698. I think this team has what it takes to make a run but in a tough AFC, nothing is guaranteed. Playoffs in general are that way but we shall see how it goes.
