1.) Cleveland Browns (13-0)
The Browns are #1 in the power rankings but it’s not unanimous for the first time since early this season. The Browns have continued to dominate and steam roll opponents this season on their way to an impressive 13-0 record. The offense is clicking and the defense is better so what does that say about this team other than they’re putting up points but my letting opponents score many. A couple of tough opponents standing between them and 16-0 though. They have the top 10 ranked Cards and division rival Bengals up next with the Seahawks in between as a potential trap game. Another year where this team clinches essentially everything early but can they replicate success in the playoffs for the first time since the Super Bowl appearance 6 seasons ago.

2.) Carolina Panthers (12-1)
This Panthers team has been great to watch as they’ve rolled through most of the schedule. Outside of a game against the Cards and a tough loss to the Jags they’ve won every other game by at least 20. This team has impressed so much that one expert voted this team 1st this week and made the point of a 1a and 1b. Regardless of how you look at it with tough opponents down the stretch this Panthers team looks like they’re locked in and ready to make a playoff run. The coach has made it clear that this team is the most talented that he’s coached and believes they’re playing with the chip on their shoulder that brought them their first title in franchise history. If they can pull it off they could have a 2nd title in 3 seasons.

3.) San Francisco 49ers (12-1)
The 9ers have done a lot this season even with trading their franchise QB. Tapia has stepped and made it know that between him and Benny Snell that they are gonna make it happen and they have. Davenport is holding it down on the defensive side along with strong QB play. This is the first time the 9ers have been division champs since season 2 so the excitement in the city is at a high. They have a tough game up next with the Bengals but we shall see how that turns out. This team has only lost one game and that’s to the top ranked team, so postseason expectations are high. Loaded with young talent, let’s see if they can make a run in San Fran after seasons of tough outs. I think we definitely could see this team amongst others realistically fighting for a Super Bowl.

4.) New England Patriots (10-2)
The Patriots have jumped 4 spots after a good win in week 11 against the division rival Patriots. Part II in week 17 should be just as good if not better so we shall see when that time comes, but this Pats team has played well all season being one of the last undefeated teams to fall late. McNabb is showing great leadership and making this team play at a great level as well as his relationship with Cooks who’s been making it happen because of the chemistry they gained off the bat. Boyett has made plays in the backfield and the defense has played really good football especially as of late. Be on the lookout for this team come playoff time as I can see them making a run even if the team isn’t quite as talented as some of the others.

5.) Detroit Lions (10-2)
The MVP candidate Lewerke is making things happen with this Lions squad as well as Bachie, and plans to take the team to new heights. The coach has this team back on the map after a down season a season ago. This team has been impressive on both sides of the ball but watching Lewerke grow into a potential league MVP has been fun to watch this season especially with the quick connection between him and Fairley. The Texans coach did a lot with the overachieving Texans team last year and it’ll be interesting what he can bring to this Lions team for a potential playoff run. When you think of contenders, this team has everything it needs to make a run so don’t be surprised if you see this team do what seems like the impossible and bring a title to Detroit.

6.) New York Jets (12-1)
The Jets have been playing good football all season and despite a loss to the division rival Pats, this team was one of the last unbeaten teams to fall. With an overhauled roster filled with savvy vets this Jets team continues to be impressive with MVP leader Deshaun Watson calling the shots under center. Coming up with a big win against the Chiefs helps the resumé quite a bit too and shows just how good this team is. Dropping from 2 to 6 is quite a drop for a team that didn’t lose their 1st game til week 11 and haven’t lost since. We haven’t seen what this team can do in the playoffs so that’ll be interesting and the fact that he’s a new coach could be helping the case but I think he’ll work it out. I trust this coach’s ability to get it done so time will tell.

7.) Kansas City Chiefs (9-4)
The Chiefs have been great this season despite recent struggles. A tough loss to the Jets where they struggled to find their footing in what looked like an off game in the midst of a long season, this team is built to make things happen down the stretch and in the playoffs. Tarrant continues to be a terror in a receiving trio that also includes Parker Battle and Tyreek Hill with Mahomes looking like he could take home an MVP, this season has unleashed the typically defensive oriented Chiefs team to what for the most part has looked like a juggernaut on that side. The defense is still playing strong too with a lot of youth and athleticism infused with the great veterans this team already had. With the playoffs around the corner and a clinch AFC West this team is a title contender.

8.) Cincinnati Bengals (8-4)
The Bengals have been sneaky good this season, not often that you say that about a team like this that has talent everywhere and a coach that had back to back super bowl appearances. Fiedler has been something good to watch as he’s progressed in his rookie season and Farley making a point to revitalize this ground game, have this team looking like contenders. Tough games to close out but I’m sure this coach is up to the challenge as he looks to make the playoff push in the wild card race. The defense has their playmakers as well as Adibi and Willis have made this defense look solid once again. It’s amazing what this coach can do when focused so don’t be surprised if he makes noise and appears in Super Bowl #3 in 5 seasons...3rd times a charm
[Prev. Rank: 9]
9.) Green Bay Packers (7-4-1)
Big time jump for the Packers climbing 8 spots into the top 10. The former Colts coach has this Packers team overachieving even more than he did with the now struggling Colts team. In what has been a wild season for this team including a tie leading to a 1-3-1 start the Packers have looked really good. Holland is playing at a high level for a rookie and showing he was worthy of that #2 pick. On defense there are young pieces contributing a lot as well making this team look like they could make noise if they make it to the postseason. They have a pretty easy schedule down the stretch aside from the sneaky Broncos and Saints teams, so they still have a decent shot at the playoffs. This coach took an overachieving team to the Super Bowl before so maybe he makes it happen again.

10.) Arizona Cardinals (8-4)
The Cards have had some tough losses this year against some tough opponents and continue to show regardless of W/L record that they are a top 10 team. 4 of their losses to this point have come against top 10 teams as they’ve been impressive in the other games. Moffitt going down in the midst of an MVP caliber year didn’t help much, and Hangartner is trying to get back in rhythm. The defense has struggled to find its footing as well at least compared to previous seasons so that’s something to watch for. Overall I think this Cards team has what it takes to make another run should they make the postseason. When you win 2 out of 3 you get the looks that the Cards coach does which at the moment looks like a league great. Don’t count this team out yet, still games to go.
