Bye Week Recap

With a week 10 bye the Lions sit at 7-2 with the best record with Coach Dough through 9 games. With the offense clicking and newly added Captain to the defensive side of the ball Demani Richardson everything seems to be in place as the Lions try and push to be consecutive NFC North Champs.

Offense

Tua Tagavoila has shown great improvement from last year with his ability to read defenses better and make better throws. With the trade from last year to acquire Tua, the Lions believe that this was the trade to keep the team running and a year later it seems to be paying off.

With Rashod Batemon getting shipped off the Lions believed that they could still make it work with the receivers that they had with Jamal Agnew reachung a career high in 10 tds through 9 games and Kenny Golladay with 14 tds.
As for Kerryon Johnson he will look to make his return within the coming weeks after being sidelined for 6 weeks. The Lions believe with getting Kerryon back their offense will flow even better.

Defense

Is there anyone like Demani Richardson in the SFL? The Lions believe they have gotten the steal of the draft with Richardsons play through 9 games with 11 tfl's, 3 sacks and 11 ints. Even as a rookie the leadership that he has shown through only half a year is the reason Coach Dough had made Richardson a captain. Coach Dough said, "I love the way Demani plays football with heart and a motor like none else. A player who is able to play in the box at only 215 and make the plays he does comes to show the film study and preparation he takes to become a better player."
Jeff Okudah coming into his 3rd year and reaching an X factor, he has been playing tremendously with his keen eye for the ball and not giving up big plays. With only 3 int to his name this year so far, Qbs have learned to just not test his side.

First Round Recap

With the 2022 NFL draft coming to a close, the Lions look back at their first round picks heading into preseason. With the Lions trading away their first round rookie WR and back up RB, they landed the 11th pick from the Browns which ended in the selection if Demani Richardson. Richardson who Coach Dough raved about in the draft and OTAs sees that this kid is special with his sense of tracking the football and laying hit sticks, Coach Dough believed that they found their guy at SS.

As for the 20th pick in the NFL draft the Lions wanted to with an offensive linemen with not signing one in FA, what seemed like a reach for many was the position that they needed in selecting Evan Neal RT. Although not a splash pick the Lions desperately needed help on the offensive line for Tua and Kerryon.

Push for playoffs

After week 15 the Lions stand at 7-7 and a chance at playoffs still. With the division so close the Lions have a chance to punch their ticket into the playoffs in over 30 years. With the tie breaker over the Vikings, the Lions will need the Vikings to lose 1 out of their 2 games to secure a playoff spot. With QB Tua tagavoila they will look to end the season strong and hopefully play some playoff football.
Coach Dough said, "All we can do is win out and let the chips fall in place for us to make playoffs, it wasnt a pretty start to the beginning of the season but I believe that our guys have the talent and determination to do what they need to do.

Deadline Trade

Lions shake up the team by going out and getting their franchise QB Tua Tagovailoa. Even with Sam playing well coach Dough believed he was missing some key throws that kept them out of the game and that Tua was their guy. After weeks and weeks of trade talk with the dolphins, Tua has now hopefully found a new home for the remainder of his career.

Hope In Detroit

With the Lions trading their franchise QB Mathew Stafford in the offseason the Lions look to rebuild and decided to take a chance with Sam Ehlinger in the 6th round. Coach Dough talked about missing some guys early in the draft but loved what Sam could bring to the table.

It was between Sam Ehlinger and RG3 for the starting spot.

As the season began Coach Dough decided to start with Sam Ehlinger and with a slow start in the beginning going 0-3, he looks to be in form with his offense and defense playing inspired football. After 3 straight wins and ending 3-3 Ehlinher has posted 1,231 passing yards and 14-5 td/int in the last 3 games.
Coach Dough believe they have found their guy for the future and there focus now is to make a run.

Offseason

With very little cap for the Lions this offseason they had to decided to let Damon "snacks" Harrison to walk, along with notable players like Marvin Jones and Danny Amendola. With the teams direction of going younger Coach Dough felt that plan was to look at the future and save the cap for upcoming years.
As for the free agency Coach Dough has expressed his concerns with the team and will look to hopefully make a couple signings to fill the voids of some star players.

Playoff Push

It seemed like another mediocre season for the Lions again not being able to go on a winstreak early in the season however with a 5 game win streak and week 17 yet to be played the Lions are one more win away from a playoff berth. With a divisional matchup against the Vikings on week 17 this will be a do or die for the last playoff.

With injuries to starters still looming on both sides of the ball the Lions will have to come together for the upcoming week ahead

Culture shift

With Coach Reggie Nutslaps first offseason he will look to build a playoff team in the next year within the draft and free agency. Coach Nutslap has come out and said "This is a new season and a whole new culture shift for this Titans team. Finding the right people who want to play for this Titans organziation and are ready to be game changers." This new Titans team will look hungry for a playoff spot after not making an appearance in multiple years. A crucial draft and free agency period in the next couple of weeks for coach Nutslap.

Season long struggle

Another losing season for the Titans they look to turn things around with the addition of a new GM. With back to back losing seasons the Titans look forward in a new era. The bright side for the titans are young players (Lamb, Travis E, and Lamar bond) who look to show out next season.
