Getting to Know the OMML - Seahawks Edition

Hello OMML, we will be doing one on one interviews with every owner around the league. Learning about them as an individual but more importantly their views as new owner of their team! My goal of these blogs is to grow the comradery and help get some of the new users name out there! Next to bite the bullet is our Seahawks owner Blake Seidler [pronounced Side-ler])!

OMML: Thank you for taking the time to be on today! Just for the record tell us your name or what you’d like us to call you? Also tell us a little about yourself?

Answer: Thanks for having me. My name is Blake, I'm 29 years old and an avid gamer. I previously worked in the professional sports industry, specifically in the corporate partnership areas of the business. I had the opportunity to work with the Cleveland Browns and Floria Panthers organizations, as well as Fanatics, the leading memorabilia and apparel provider for all of the major sports leagues. Now I work in the transportation and logistics industry as my main job, but I'm also the Editorial Content Director for BIGPLAY.com, a sports media site. I have two great dogs, an awesome wife of four years, and I hail from one of the two towns that created professional football.

OMML: Dogs, wife, boring jobs, shitty hometown, got ya. So, where are you from?

Answer: I live in Massillon, Ohio, which is only about four miles west of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Massillon and Canton were the first two "professional" football teams in history. A rivalry that is still carried out today via their high school programs at Canton McKinley High School and Massillon Washington High School.

OMML: How cute Ohio sports teams that think they are on par with ones from Western Pennsylvania, fun fun. What are some of you favorite games besides Madden?

Answer: NHL 19, Apex Legends, PUBG, 7 Days to Die, MLB The Show, and all of the Forza Horizon and Motorsports titles.

OMML: PUBG, isn't that the game made for 12 year old little girls that is all the rage now? Anyway, who do you cheer for outside of Madden?

Answer: I'm a die-hard Seattle Seahawks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Indians, and Ohio State Buckeyes fan. I also claim the Browns as my "NFL B team" given my proximity to them and having worked there. They weren't around in the mid 90s when I started watching football so Seattle became my team due to Joey Galloway being drafted there.

OMML: The Seachickens or the stains of the NFL to root for, damn bro you are close to Pittsburgh you could at least root for good teams, but I digress. How did you hear about the OMML?

Answer: Jim and I played in another league together, and I was a huge fan of his leadership style. So here I am!

OMML: Jim is a robot, they replaced him with an AI years ago due to his old age. Has there been anyone that has been the most helpful for you along the way so far?

Answer: Jim for sure. We've had great conversations not only about Madden, but about graphic design, web design, and even the real estate business!

OMML: Ok, OK, we get it you have a crush on Jim, jeeze. So, what is you favorite aspect of the OMML?

Answer: I've only been here a short period of time, but the gameplay and rule violation monitoring/enforcement has been great.

OMML: Rules, we don't need you stinking rules.... How long have you been in the OMML community?

Answer: Three in-game weeks. But I've known a large portion of the community for over a year from our time in another CFM.

OMML: Damn a newbie I hope the Falcons owners hasn't hit you up to show you pictures of his pet donkey he is so in love with. He does that to all the new guys. What are some of your goals this Madden and beyond?

Answer: I started sim football gaming back in 2010, which coincidentally was also the year I won my first and only Super Bowl in a CFM. I've been back to about half a dozen, so I'm theoretically the Madden version of the 90s Buffalo Bills. I would love to win a championship, but would equally love to bring back old school sim-style gaming which I think OMML is on the path of doing.

OMML: Old school or a bunch of old men? You be the judge.... Tell us about your team.

Answer: Luckily, this team was intact when I took over. No moves had been made. So as a real-life Seahawks fan I know this team is crawling with skill position talent on both sides of the ball. The biggest areas of concern are unfortunatley on both lines of scrimmage. An aging and mediocre offensive line and a likewise defensive line will need to be the focal points in our roster building moving forward. We also need to extend Wilson after next season, so we will need to be creative with our free agency spending.

OMML: A player like Wilson is like a two dollar hooker, not as cheap as you hoped but you can find one on every corner. Alright before we get out of here do you have any advice for new memebers?

Answer: Don't let the name fool you. This may be an "Old Man's" league, but the energy and commitment to old-school sim philosophy and gameplay is as youthful as it gets. The rules may somewhat be offputting at first given the no-switch and no-user rules, but I think you will find after a handful of games that this makes for a much more realistic feel and flow to each game. Bottom line: give it time!

OMML: Thank you for stopping by and admitting to your crush on the commish no judgement here, man love is all the rage these days so you go Rooks, we look forward to seeing on the gridiron!

Getting to Know the OMML - Ravens Edition

Hello OMML, we will be doing one on one interviews with every owner around the league. Learning about them as an individual but more importantly their views as new owner of their team! My goal of these blogs is to grow the comradery and help get some of the new users name out there! Next to bite the bullet is our Ravens Owner Scully!

OMML: Thank you for taking the time to be on today! Just for the record tell us your name or what you’d like us to call you? Also tell us a little about yourself?

Answer: Thanks! My name is Justin, but you can call me Scully. I live in Atlanta and have a job in the Finance industry. The dog on my Discord and Twitch profile is mine. His name is Dallas

OMML: A Raven with a dog named Dallas, nice, well not the Raven part. So, where are you from?

Answer: Originally San Diego, but I currently live in Atlanta

OMML: Let me guess you moved to Hotlanta for the chicks, right? What are some of your favorite games besides Madden?

Answer: I mainly play sports games, but I just got the division 2 for PC and have been enjoying that a lot. Red Dead 2 was also a great game I just finished!

OMML: So, sports or shooting people in the face and stealing their horses, I like it. Who do you cheer for outside of madden?

Answer: I am a HUGE Chargers fan. I was pretty disappointed when I joined the league and saw them already taken. It hurt even more when that owner left lol. However, in M20 I will hopefully be the rightful owner of the LA Chargers

OMML: The Sandiangelas Chargers, uhmm. How did you hear about the OMML?

Answer: Randomly through DL. I have been looking for a Sim league that doesn’t have nothing but 18-year-old stick jockeys who use the same passing play every play.

OMML: So, you chose a geriatric Madden retirement home to join? OK Then. Has there been anyone that has been the most helpful for you along the way so far?

Answer: All the Commish team has been super great so far. They understand there are a lot of rules and many people might be new to this style of gameplay, so they have been patient but firm enough to keep the league running smoothly.

OMML: Rumor is one of those Comish’s likes to keep naked midgets in his closet but we won’t spill the beans and say which one, Robert…... Anyway, what is your favorite aspect of the OMML?

Answer: The rules make it more about strategy.

OMML: How long have you been in the OMML community and did they hand out walkers and AARP cards when you joined?

Answer: A couple weeks so far.

OMML: A newbie, great watch out for PepperNY that dude is a trade rapist. That aside, what are some of your goals this Madden and beyond?

Answer: Win the division and hopefully make a run in the playoffs. That’s mainly for this season, I am looking forward to the team building aspect of this long term.

OMML: Tell us about your team, those dirty Ratbirds in purple and black or as many of us like to call them, the real Browns.

Answer: Right now, the Ravens are pretty solid and in a decent place for M19. My D is stout with a few solid rising stars. Not much work will be needed to upgrade my D. My O on the other hand is a different story, outside of my QB and RB, I have NO SPEED. Main focus for this Ravens squad this offseason is to get Lamar as many weapons as possible, thankfully I have nearly 70+M in cap space to make a couple big splashes in free agency.

OMML: Please don’t tell us you consider that HB playing QB, Lamar Jackson a star? Any toot, before we get out of here, do you have any advice for new members?

Answer: Ask questions! If you have any questions about the rules, ask! Also, get those games scheduled so we can advance early hah.

OMML: Thank you for stopping by Scully, I look forward to seeing on the gridiron! As for you tools reading this, check back next week for our next installment of GETTING TO KNOW THE OMML!

Getting to Know the OMML - Dolphins Edition

Hello OMML, I'm Buck Tripplet and we will be doing one on one interviews with every owner around the league. Learning about them as an individual but more importantly their views as new owner of their team! My goal of these blogs is to grow the comradery and help get some of the new users name out there! Next up is our Dolphins Owner sountouchble!

OMML: Thank you for taking the time to be on today! Just for the record tell us your name or what you’d like us to call you? Also tell us a little about yourself?

Answer: Thanks for having me. My name is Stanley Jean-Baptiste, not the failed NFL cornerback. I just wanted to get that out of the way if anyone remembers him. I'd like to have everyone call me Stan.

I'm a 46-year-old Production Company (Lantiste) Owner / partner with my wife. I have two beautiful teenage daughters who I love dearly and will do anything for them. I have a 3-year-old female Golden Retriever named "Marino", that's right, I named her after my favorite H.O.F. QB.

My vision of the OMML Miami Dolphins is to build them to be champions every year. Through great leadership, hard work, discipline, development, honor, sportsmanship and friendship. I strongly believe in a family structured environment and hold individuals accountable for their actions.

I accepted the Miami Dolphins ownership role and GM role because I see this great organization as a winning team. This team has been my favorite team since 1983. I expect to be the owner for a very long time and hope one day to lift the OMML Super Bowl Trophy.

OMML: Where are you from Stan-the-man?

Answer: Danbury, CT

OMML: Danbury, no way I was just out on the Ives Trail Greenway the other day, and let me tell you bears do shit in the woods my friend, but anyway what are some of your favorite games besides Madden?

Answer: MLB The Show, ACE Combat, NHL Hockey and RPGs

OMML: Very cool Hockey is a real game anyway. Who do you cheer for outside of madden?

Answer: Miami Dolphins all the way

OMML: So, you root for one of those teams the Cheatriots take out behind the wood shed and whoop on a couple times of year, cool. How did you hear about the OMML?

Answer: I was introduced by Big Al known as (@F3RR3IRA SR#3273) who I met from the XCFL.

OMML: Big Al, damn bro please tell me he hasn’t got you watching shitty ass 'Joisey' Shore reruns to has he? Any hoot, has there been anyone that has been the most helpful for you along the way so far?

Answer: Everyone on the staff

OMML: Between you and me man, the OMML staff is full of old washed up dudes who love to scream at the local kids to get off their lawn, but don’t tell them I said that, I need this gig. Back to the interview, what is your favorite aspect of the OMML?

Answer: That I can enjoy a great SIM strategic game flow without the worries of playing someone younger than 30 years old who takes advantage of AI glitches, money plays and user ball hawks (Stick Jockeys). Also, the Wednesday and Saturday advances.

OMML: So, you are an old fuck who yells at the kids to get off your lawn too then? Jeez… Ok then, well how long have you been in the OMML retirement community?

Answer: Since the OMML is brand new, it's been a month.

OMML: What are some of your goals this madden and beyond?

Answer: My goal is to develop my skills to become a better SIM play caller. Beyond this Madden, I'd like to see my skills improve with running the ball and developing a custom playbook I will enjoy.

OMML: Tell us about your team.

Answer: Well, we have some holes to fill and we want to rebuild. This team is not all that bad. We have tons of receivers with speed and we want to get younger. Could improve our interior Oline and outside linebacker core depth.

We're not a flashy team but we will grind out and never quit.

OMML: Alright before we get out of here and back to the world of the living, do you have any advice for new members?

Answer: I highly recommend reading the rules once a day to get familiar or print them out and highlight the ones you have trouble remembering. Finally, the most important, have fun and enjoy the community.

OMML: Well thanks you for stopping by Stan and entertaining us with all the neat things about your boring ass life, we look forward to seeing on the gridiron! Oh and the Saints GM asked if you could please tank the rest of the season so they have a higher draft pick, not sure what that is all about but I figured I would pass it along.

Getting to Know the OMML - Browns Edition

Hello OMML, we will be doing one on one interviews with every owner around the league. Learning about them as an individual but more importantly their views as new owner of their team! My goal of these blogs is to grow the comradery and help get some of the new users name out there! I am stuck up here in this shithole state of New Jersey, so lets get this over with already. Next up is our Browns owner F3RR3IRA SR!

OMML: Thank you for taking the time to be on today! Just for the record, tell us your name or what you’d like us to call you? Also, tell us a little about yourself?

Answer:

My name is Al Ferreira Sr. I can be called Al, Ferreira, Big Al, A**hole (wife’s favorite)

OMML: Where are you from A**hole?

Answer:

Born & Raised in New Jersey a.k.a Dirty Jrzy NJ etc. it’s NOT F**king New Joisey either bitch!

OMML: What are some of you favorite games besides Madden and watching 'Joisey' Shore reruns?

Answer:

FIFA, RD2, GTA, PUBG, Farm Sim, Poker

OMML: Farm sim in Joisey, what the hell you farming crack? Anyhoot who do you cheer for outside of madden, let me guys the Jets, Jets, jets?

Answer:

Not sure, what this questions means, but I’ll give it a shot…. If you mean NFL team wise, then the JETS, but if you mean in life… well then it is my Family, My kids!

OMML: How cute you root for your family and kids, go you. OK enough sappy shit, tell us how did you hear about the OMML?

Answer:

From a good old friend. Jim McMillen.

OMML: Dude we warned you about hanging out with Mr. Mcmillen that dude is trouble, but I digress, has there been anyone that has been the most helpful for you along the way so far?

Answer:

Yes, My pal Jim a.k.a. Steelerguy26

OMML: Well if steelerguy his helping you, then it must be your pornstar and stipper game you are looking to upgrade not your Madden skills. What is your favorite aspect of the OMML?

Answer:

There isn’t ONE in particular, but I come from the XCFL so it’s a close 2nd to the that leagues feel, plus it’s all old farts like myself in here, so it’s more on my level. So to speak

OMML: How long have you been in the OMML community?

Answer:

Since day one!!! I am a four father! Founding member!

OMML: What are some of your goals this Madden and beyond?

Answer:

I want a league with no BS and that is my intentions for OMML and its future. A place to play without the community cheese ball we see in other places. We are a TRUE SIM CFM!

OMML: Tell us about your team and not those shitty ass Jets either.

Answer: My team is the Cleveland Browns. I know earlier I mentioned I am a JETS fan, but c’mon really? You have seen their roster…. Although it has some talent & upside. It is sometimes hard to play or GM you favorite team, because you tend to side with your heart & feelings vs. making the correct decisions that is best for your team. I know a lot of other member’s know exactly what I mean. Does that make me not a fan? I beg to differ. But for M20 we shall she where Al Ferreira Sr. end up!

OMML: All right before we get out of here and out of this shit hole of a state New Joisey and back to a city we can breath in without getting lung cancer, do you have any advice for new members?

Answer:

Yes, a few things….

?  Read the rules (more than once)

? Do not get frustrated

? Remember that it is just a video game

?  Some of us have played under these rules for years & know them very well!

?  Do not be a Dick! (probably the #1 rule)

?  Have some respect & sportsmanship

?  Schedule your games
