Da Bears Get Off To A Hot Start

After a disappointing end to last season, missing out on the playoffs on the last game of the year to division rivals the Vikings, Da Bears front office made it their mission to make this team better so they would not miss the playoffs again this year and years to come. The all decisive week 17 game would not have been possible if it wasn't for former player and coach of Da Bears, Mike Ditka taking ownership of the team with 4 games left. "I was sick and tired of watching these boys underperfom and knew all they needed was an old school kick in the ass to get them going to not miss the playoffs. Unfortunately, our late push just wasn't enough so at our end of season meetings and awards banquet, I continuously made it known that we will improve this offseason and make the Super Bowl run we know we are capable of."

The one big question everyone had after all this promise of improvement, was where and how was this improvement going to come from? After mortgaging most of their future to get Khalil Mack, it most certainly wasn't coming from the draft or trading away more picks to bring in players was for the most part not an option. So as players took their much needed vacations after a hard fought season, many were nervous and uneasy about if their phones would ring saying they were getting shipped off.

"I wish I didn't have to part ways with some of those guys, but this is the NFL and you have to make tough decisions everyday to try and help move your team towards the ultimate goal, and I believe we did that with the moves we made." And Ditka has been right so far as Da Bears have gotten off to a 3-0 start, and the new additions have certainly made a huge impact. After Trubisky's breakout sophomore season, many expected him to continue into the 2019 season, but he has had little to do passing wise thanks to newly acquired RB Ronald Jones II. Jones has teared the first 3 opponents apart and is in the mix at the top of RBs stats across the league. With Jones taking the headlines on offense, the defense is being compared to the '86 Bears. Currently Ranked #1 the Defense has given up 10 points in 3 games, with 2 shutouts. Khalil Mack has been leading the D-Line with 5 sacks and is getting more than enough help from DTs Vita Vea and Eddie Goldman, and DEs Leonard Floyd and Bud Dupree. The rest of the defense is being lead by the Linebacker Duo of reigning DROTY Roquan Smith and Foyesade Oluokun. Oluokun leads the league with 6 INTs and Roquan follows closely behind with 3 of his own, and together are responsible for 21 tackles. So we think it is safe to say that Ditka's improvements look to be paying off and Da Bears look ready to make their title run, but they are focused in the locker room and taking it 1 week at a time.

The last bit of news we got as Da Bears finish up their bye week, is that there is a new face on this already dominate defense, Yannick Ngakoue has joined Da Bears from Jacksonville. Bringing 6 sacks with him and a Week 3 POTW, Ngakoue looks to make himself and Mack one of the best pass rushing duos in NFL history. As with the other roster moves made by the front office, only time will tell if their latest addition works out and helps this team reach their ultimate goal, winning the Super Bowl.
