Kenny Stills to the Patriots!

After the Patriots most recent press conference hinted that the newly acquired Coach would be making further moves on offence, one did not anticipate them to happen so soon. According to an insider source with the Patriots, the Dolphins Coach Ytown330king, approached them with an offer for Wide Receiver Kenny Stills. Stills, who had shown a less than memorable display of skills held down to only 6 receptions for 74 yards and 2 touchdowns in 3 appearances. It didn’t take long for New England to take up the offer from division rivals and trade away a 2nd (2020) Round Draft Pick for Stills and a late 6th Round Pick. Stills further took to twitter in voicing his frustration with Miami’s management at the fact they had moved him down in the depth chart while paving the way forward for shining WR Rookie Frank Bowers. As TMZ Sports caught up with Stills at the Miami airport he stated “I guess loyalty and experience mean nothing to Miami, I can’t wait to start fresh with a team which will respect my abilities on and off the field”. Until then we anticipate a start from Sills when the Redskins visit Gillette Stadium for their Week 5 face-off against the Patriots.

Fresh From the Patriots Press

After New Englands disappointing 0-2 start to the 2019 season, and various transgressions with upper echelon, there appeared to be a rift between management and the coaching direction of TrevorFab. When asked about the decision to part ways, Team Owner Robert Kraft simply stated “I guess Trevor was just not that fabulous”. Mr. Kraft advised the press that the decision was an easy and swift one, as he was quick to sign Trevor’s replacement, Mr. Mark T.

Coming in on a team with a losing seasonal record was not an easy task, especially with zero depth or experience at the Quarterback position. Mark, however easily connected with his offensive line, and newly acquired halfback superstar, Christian McCaffrey. Mark saw potential, and that was all he needed. He stated “I am extremely happy at the depth I have with Mccafrey and White at the HB position, and want to re-instill the running game into the offensive playbook”.

Further to his offensive decisions, Mark moved from a 3-4 defensive scheme, to his preferred 4-3 powerhouse overload with the likes of Flowers, Shelton, Brown and Clayborn. Once it came down to standing behind the bench for his first test against the Bills we saw it at work. Although a poor and atrocious performance on offence by Rookie Quarterback Tate Martell, who went 1/7, 8 yards passing and 1 Interception, Mark said he knew adjustments had to be made and stuck to the running game. Bringing in his runners for a total of 32 carries and 141 yards between White and McCaffrey. The Patriots ended up losing 31-19. But that was not the end. On another note, Martell was seen running away from the press post game, with a red face and tears running down his cheeks.

Mark immediately involved management to bring in experience at QB and although talks for Cam Newton, Philip Rivers and DeShaun Watson failed, they were able to bring in quarterback Andy Dalton for a 2020 3rd Round Pick. At the time of the trade Dalton was busy warming the bench down in Cincinnati, and supplying BJ Klauss with water. Safe to say Dalton was ecstatic that he would have the opportunity to once again show age is not a factor and experience takes the bait when it comes to a starting position. Furthermore, the Patriots secured an injured Gronkowski to a 5-Year whopping $54.3 million contract. Safe to say Gronk will retire a Patriot.

Going into Week 4 the Patriots faced off against the Ravens who also came off a disappointing loss against the Steelers. With everything said, and adjustments made, the Patriots continued their push towards their first victory away from home. Right away the changes made saw a positive effect, Andy Dalton throwing his first TD of the 2019 season and finishing 11/16 for 112 yards and 1 TD 1 INT. Supported by the running game for a total of 125 yards and a TD from James White. The  Ravens were no easy task, as the defensive battle was strong, but the Ravens were eventually defeated by a late Patriots drive with the final score being 16-9 Patriots, moving them to a 1-3 standing.

Although this is by no means a time to celebrate, the Patriots are happy to see their work off the field pay off on the field. When Mark was asked what’s next or if there is a chance at a playoff push, Mark simply replied “I’m happy to finally bring a win to the fans of New England, but until then it’s back to the lab in preparation for the Washington Redskins. We have to figure out a way to shutdown their top offensives stars (Brissett, Thompson and Doctson), while playing a smart offence against defence of Dakingpin4eva”.

Until next week Winner’s Football League.
