After coming off a Super Bowl season, the Jaguars start off the new season with a 2-0 start. They have played in the NFL title game the last 2 seasons going 1-1 while doing so. We as fans know the pressure of getting to the Super Bowl but imagine the pressure of trying to WIN back to back championships. It’s safe to say that the Jaguars are this years favorite to do just that. They were the division and conference champions the last two seasons. They lean on their defense to get the job done and the Blake Bortle’s led offense is nothing short of good in its own regard. They have a solid run game with Fournette. They added the HB Jerrick Mickinnon in the offseason to lighten Fournette’s load. The receiver that everyone has been talking about (Allen Robinson) is amongst the leagues best. He's won BEST WR in 2017 and finished 2nd in the voting in 2018. He has made the Pro Bowl the last two seasons as well. Let’s just say he’s a true PROBLEM on the gridiron! The offensive line is probably the best in the league right now. After losing future HOF Joe Thomas to retirement, the Jaguars traded up in the draft to snag RG Warren Cornick out of Miami University, he was the #2 ranked guard in the draft. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say he will probably be the best lineman out of that draft when it’s all said and done. Coach Marrone is one of the best when it comes to developing offensive lineman. BUCKY HODGES! if you haven’t seen this freak of nature then let me help you visualize this monster...let’s try 6’6”, 257LB TE with hands like Chris Carter and the deceptive speed of a Vernon Davis. He has mentioned several times over the offseason how he wants to become a pro bowl TE and we believe that this is the season he breaks out fully. Now all of this sounds good on paper and a smart man would bet with the Jaguars to win it all but the games must be played. Any given Sunday (game). Now let’s see if these Jaguars are a dynasty in the making or are they a team showing fatigue...
Who would’ve thought that after the first quarter of the nfl season that we would have only one undefeated team? And that team being the Rams! 2nd year QB J. Goff seems to have dawned the game manager moniker. He has failed to pass for atleast 12 attempts twice in games this year, but has only thrown 12 incompletions and 2 interceptions. It’s safe to say that the team is on the back of their young stud half back Gurley. He’s currently 3rd amongst all running backs in yards with 602 on the ground. He’s added 7 rushing TDs on the year as well. He has to be an early MVP candidate thus far. Now let’s not forget about that Aaron Donald led defense. The defense is giving up a leads best 14 points per contest while having the third ranked rushing defense and league’s 4th overall defense in yardage allowed. Let’s see if they can come out of week 6 victorious against a struggling Bears unit.
