After the Jaguars thirlling comeback victory against the New York Giants whilst the locker room was still in uproar from the crazy comeback win.
The GM Tom Coughlin stomed into the locker room with with a hellish look in his eyes, as he saw a 3-13 team celebrating a dumpster victory. Coughlin swiftly removed all media from the room except his lone secretary, whom we retrieved this story from.
The media did note that there was plenty of yelling followed by a sea of calm, here is the Secretary's account.
"Tom started with his pirceing eyes through everyones soul, everyone knew what kinda guy Tom was a no bullshit kind of guy.. so they knew something bad was coming. Tom yelled "you finished the season 27th in total offense and 25th in points scored.. that cant help us. Bye."He pointed to the Offensive Coordinator and effective pointed to the door.. along with his entire staff from ball boys all the way up to the offensive coordinator. He then pointed to the defensive coordinator and yelled "you finished 26th in total defense, and 27th in points allowed. That cant help us. Bye" pointing to thee door again. This time the entire staff just followed Tom didnt even have to say anything to them. He then preceded to dismiss the headcoach from the room not firing him but removing him from the room and then began a sorrowful apology to the team saying "Its sad that you guys are this low that you think celebrating a 3-13 season, with a lone win coming against an 4-12 team at that nonetheless. I am sorry you guys had to endure this and I promise it will never happen again.""
Jokingly Tom pointed to the Special Teams Coordinator and kick returners Rod Tidwell & Glenn Blake, you guys accounted for over 1500 yards and four TD's.. That can help us. The lone bright spot on an overly talented team.
Approaching the door, "This time next year, we will be talking about having practice tomorrow not planning a fucking vacation."
I'm not sure what Tom said to Head Coach Rob Riggle.. but he still has his job intact but I am 100% sure things will be different next season. --- said Tom's Secretary.
The Jaguars decided to whip out the alternate all white uniforms to white out their divison rival the Houston Texans, whom they are 0-4 against under head coach Rob Riggle.
The first quarter was ugly for both team besides a dominant and extremely balanced first drive for the Texans, Deshaun Watson started the drive 5 of 5. The texans went on to capitalize on this masterfully executed drive to punch it in for 6 on a run to the right side by D'onta Foreman.
The Jaguars led by 2nd string quarterback Joshua Dobbs took the field just to take the walk of shame 3 plays later, play calling was ugly not in sync and just not good at all.
After a punt The texans took the field to begin a short drive ended swiftly by an interception on an overthrown pass across the middle by Myles Jack one of the Jaguars top defensive threats.
The Jaguars did not do much with the ball as they just ran a few plays followed by a Barney Gorman field goal.
This Sequence repeated itself with another interception thrown by deshaun watson followed by another Jaguars field goal.
the first play of the next drive was Deshaun Watson's final play of the season as he suffered a torn rotator cuff and rookie Quarterback Dustin Townsend took the field for the texans leading them to a three and out soon after.
The Jaguars came out to the field to pitch a three and out, followed by a long bomb to will fuller for a 75 yard touchdown, making the score 14-6 Texans.
On the ensuing 2 minute drive the Jaguars marched down the field to score a touchdown on an extemely methodical drive capped by a 30+ yard bomb to Rod Tidwell. failed 2 pt conversion. making it 14 -12 Texana
The following kickoff Jakeem Grant takes a kickoff to the house for 6, straight down the middle.. and veering to the right untouched down the sideline amnd no one in his reareview.
Taking it into the half 21-12 Texans.
The Jaguars came out again in the second half and marched down the field to score another tochdown on a pass across the middle to Sefarian Jenkins. making the score 19-21, another texans drive ended in a touchdown on a deep bomb to Keke Coutee.
The score was 28-19 Texans heaading into the final period, theJaguars defense locked up and held the Texans to a field goal making the score 31-19 with 7:42 left in the game.
With the wind to their back the Jaguars return team took the field and Rod Tidwell fielded a short kickoff around the 8 yard line. He took it directly up the middle faking right and shooting through a gaping hole on the left heavily aided by a pancake block of the kicker by Jahleel Addae.
On the very next drive, Texans leading 31-26, Yannick Ngakuoe came screaming off the left end unblocked strip sacking Dustin Townsend at the texans 13 yardline, he fumble recovered by the Jaguar and on the ensuing play the Jaguars sophomore running back Jarrad Reese stumbles in from 13 yards out for his first touchdown of the night.
The Texans recieved the ball at their 25 yard line and drove all the way down the field melting the clock down to the 2 minute warning after running a controversial toss play on 3rd and 1. They took the lead on a Kaimi Faibairin field goal. Giving the texans a 32-34 lead.
The jaguars took the field with 1:50 seconds on the clock lead by Joshua Dobbs in his first start of the season with only one timeout.
The drive began with a solid 5 yard run on a counter play to the left side, the tailback had plenty of room but his lack of vision and awareness in his youth caused him to run into the back of his own lineman gaining less yards then he should. the very next play a very broken play; Joshua Dobbs sits in the pocket and scambles up the middle barely avoiding a illegal forward pass penalty heaving it deep for a well covered Rod Tidwell.
Tidwell came down with it, the Jaguars decided to run it again and it surely cost them, Jarrad Reese suffered an injury causing them to lose their final timeout. with 39 second left the jaguars decided to run it again on a sweep left to Darnell Jefferson one of his few but valuable touches throughout the game. he gained 17 yards. making it first and goal. Reese re-entered the game again after a brief rest to take a the next few snaps.
It was obvious the Jaguars were just trying to line up their field goal kicker for and easy field goalfrom inside the 10 yardline so they handed it to Reese again, this time a huge hole opened up to the left side of the line and Reese shots through it to walk in untouched for the lead changing score. putting the Jaguars up 39-34
The Texans had one more shot with on timeout and 20 seconds left, Dustin Townsend found Deandre Hopkins shooting across the center odf the field wide open with only one man to beat, he was brought down on the Jaguars 45 yard line. another incompletion followed this throw, and the final throw was thrown deep right and swatted down by AJ Bouye, bouncing off the hands of Will Fuller falling to the ground and ending the game.
Giving the Jaguars their first win against the Houston Texans in an extreme unlikely fashion, backs against the wall, trailing by 12 with about 8 minutes left being lead by their second string quarterback. and somehow in the midst most unlikely odds, they found a way to get the job done.
The Texans will moving to play the Oakland Raiders next week, while the Jags move on to play the Denver Broncos at home.
