Defense finish Strong

For the second Week in a row The Browns Defense caused a turnover in the Red Zone to seal a victory. Off to another hot start (3-1), Cleveland is slowly establishing a winning mentality under the Guidance of Coach Stark. LB Kirksey came away with a huge strip late in the Fourth quarter to give Kansas City its Forth consecutive loss. Time will tell if last year's learning experience worth it.

New Comers

All eyes were on MCL Free Agency this past Thursday, with the Draft only one day away, Teams went into panic mode when the Commissioner was nowhere to be found at the Deadline. The top LB was a RFA so Cleveland had their eyes set on solidifying the Offensive line and adding quality depth to the Team through the 2022 MCL Draft . At one point there was a intense battle with the Front Office in Buffalo over C Rodney Hudson, which almost led Coach/Gm Stark to look elsewhere. However, he stuck to it and eventually got the 31 yo vet to sign on the dotted line. The move that surprised a few GMs around the MCL was the signing of QB Dak Prescott. When asked about the signing Coach Stark stated,"When you have a player of that caliber available you dont go against your plan but you have to at least weigh the options, fortunately for this team the options were good enough not to pass on....no pun intended". Cleveland will look to implement the QB into the offense in what is being labeled as "Nickel QB", taken from a page of the late great Buddy Ryan. Week 1 will see Cleveland travel to Cincinnati to take on the reigning AFC North title holders.

Every Cloud...Silver Lining!

With a crushing 40-10 loss vs Houston in the Divisional Round, Cleveland has alot to look forward to in the upcoming MCL Off-Season. The Browns won their First playoff game under Coach Stark in the Wildcard round so thats a goal they look to build on.With majority of their starters returning Cleveland will look to add depth and skill players to Build around RB Chubb WR Calvin RT Forston. QB Mayfield reiterated the need to improve his play after a 6 Int playoff performance. The Future is now for the Browns and it looks like they have all the opportunity to become a consistent contender.

Rookie Spotlight

After a stellar Season, LT Desi Forston has put himself in a class of his own. Lacking only the professional experience, he played far removed from being a Rookie, ranking 1st in Sacks Allowed(2) and 3rd in Downs Played (977) at the OT position, while also Keeping his QB clean in the pocket with 32 Sacks on the season (MCL rank 2nd).The ultimate reward was being voted as one of the MCL's AFC Pro Bowl representative's,which Coach Stark expects to be the "first of many" stating that he "knew exactly what type of player he wanted to add to his team going into the MCL Draft this past Off-Season and the 6'7" giant out of Clemson was right there waiting". Things are looking promising for the future of Cleveland football as they play guest to Miami in the MCL Wildcard round this weekend.

At the midway point of the season, Cleveland is right in the thick of things. Currently tied with Cincinnati for first place in the AFC North,the census was more of a "Lets get things done" than a Must win. If anyone received the memo it was definitely MLB Schobert, who was locked in on the defensive side of the ball. MLB Schobert single-handedly accounted for 5 turnovers(4 Interceptions + 1 Fumble Recovery) vs SF. With another plus in the W column, Cleveland will look to continue in the right direction Week 10 @Tennessee.

Rookie Spotlight

The Third round pick out of Vanderbilt has acclimated to the MCL well. After 5 Games, 21 yo WR Martin Calvin is ranked in the top 5 in Rookie WRs catches (15) and yards (186). In Monday night's game vs New England, WR Calvin led the Browns with a 5-75-0 stat line. He has become a reilable target and Coach Stark is well aware of his contributions and plans to "Get the 'Young Gun' going" Week 7 vs division rival Cincinnati. With the team on a Bye this week, They should have plenty of time to prepare and allow WR Calvin to develop on his chemistry with the QB. He has yet to reach the Endzone so more playing time sould have him celebrating his first career TD soon.

Season Home Opener

After a slow start lead them to 10-0 deficit in the First quarter of Sundays game against division rival Baltimore, Cleveland looked well on their way to defeat. QB Mayfield turned the ball over 3 times, which Coach Stark addressed in a post game interview, but the Defense came alive in the Second half. The most significant play came in the Third quarter when QB Mayfield threw a 70 yard rocket to WR Landry to tie the game 10-10. CB Ward came up with a Pick Six late in the Fourth quarter to seal the victory, as the Browns scored 16 unanswered points. With road trips to Miami and Cincinnati in the following weeks, Coah Stark was quoted saying "The room for improvement supersedes the ability to overcome"

The Saga Continues

The Journey has been rocky for the Bears. Losing 2 out of their last 3 games has solidified another Playoff-less season in The Chi. There was high hopes coming into the Season and winning the NFC North was something obtainable however, things went not as planned. There are a lot of brights spots on this team so after 3 full seasons of experience for Coach Johnson the only question is When does winning become a priority? One of those bright spots wears #94 and he is a force to be reckon with. The Bears have made 2022 a high priority year for Coaches and Players to succeed so......

BEARer of Good News

Whenever the Bears look to Benson for momentum he delivers. The Rookie MLB currently leads his Team in Tackles and with the recent lost of ROLB Bradford (likely out for Season) Benson will need to fill a void. Chicago stands at 7-6 with a trip to "The Jungle" in CIN Week 15. Benson was a key factor in a hard fought win vs ARI Week 14 to keep hope alive for the Post-Season. With the AFC North standing in the way, Can The Bears slow down the high Powered Offense of the Bengals followed by CLE & BAL?......His eyes Says So!!!!!!

Who will Finish the DROY race?

The coveted Defensive Rookie of the Year Award currently has a peculiar group of players with interesting "ties" (pun intended).Arizona ROLB Anthony Colombo (Grandson of deceased Mobster Anthony Colombo Jr), Detroit SS Ontarius Chapman (Nephew of Singer-Songwriter Tracy Chapman), Chicago MLB Curtis Benson (Son of Musician Marvin Bernard aka Tony YaYo (Benson is named in homage to his Father's childhood friend Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson), New Orleans MLB Willis Vaughn (Son of Former NBA Player Jacque Vaughn),Indianapolis CB Issaiah Griffin (Son of Comedian Eddie Griffin). Minus the obvious acknowledgements each player has made huge contributions to their respected teams so at this point the Winner of the DROY Award will definitely deserve it because of what they do on the field, not who they know off the field.

The Designated Driver

After three straight Seasons of -10 TD-TO ratio Coach Johnson decided to "Take the Keys" from Mitch Trubisky. Prior to Week 9 vs GB Trubisky was well on his way to a fourth consecutive season of such until Rodriguez Zombo got the start at QB and came out victorious.  Coach Johnson knows that benching your Franchise QB can either "Inspire or Expire". "It's like attending a Social Event with your Friends(playing in front of 65k people with your teammates), You begin to enjoy yourself(Get into a passing rhythm ) and then you leave your comfort zone(INT=DWI) You guys following where I'm going? Who's the go to Guy to get you where you need to be?..........Zombo's driving us to Atlanta!!!!!

#Welcome To The Chi

After a horrendous display of passing last Season the Bears are committed to improving the passing game by upgrading the WR position. This past week has been a step in that direction after dishing out a 1st & 2nd Round Draft pick in exchange for WR Ryan Switzer & WR Devin Funchess. During today's Practice they decided to have a little fun. Switzer produced 1 rec 9 yards 1TD Week 2 vs Minnesota.Funchess is expected to start along side Switzer and (Fan Favorite) WR "Cam" Meredith Week 3 vs LA Rams.

Benson makes a Statement

The 24 year old showed us his football capabilities by setting the tone for what would become a great day for the Bears defense. On the first play of the game Benson locked eyes with Bridgewater and broke on a drag route picking the ball off.

However, staying true his moniker, coined by veteran LB Danny Trevathan, Benson had a open field with 6 points ahead of him and decided to run backwards and get tackled. Benson was a huge question mark coming into the draft. He went on a high speed chase with police leading to him being  convicted of a Felony (he's currently on Probation).

With no invite to the NFL Combine the future seemed dim for Benson until Coach Johnson put the call in on Draft night. In a post game interview Benson stated "Welcome to The Chi" that's why "Tre" call me "Young Reckless"!!!!!

Bears Choose Howard

After a strong finish to end last season 9-7 (6 game win streak), the Chicago Bears had their hands tied with both RB J. Howard & LE L. Floyd turning down offers of $8m/year and $10m/year respectfully. This left the Bears with 1 Franchise Tag and 2 Franchise players highly favored by Coach Johnson,Loved by the Fans and wanted in The Windy City FOREVER!!!!

Floyd had a season for the ages accounting for a ridiculous 46 sacks (tying League MVP & SB Champion Junior Peppers). However, Coach Johnson believes Howard can "Rush for 2K in his sleep", which ultimately Got Howard the Franchise Tag but the goal was far from over. After clearing Cap Space in preparation for FA the Bears offered Floyd 4/yr 20m salary/5m bonus. After Week 1 loss Vs Titans someone decided to ask Coach Johnson about Floyd joining the Titans.............. He did....You mean he played in the Game.... Didn't Notice...When you see him tell him Howard had 109!!!!!
