Division Predictions

I am currently bored at work so I said, “why not write a quick divisions winner article.” So, let’s get started.

AFC East: Buffalo Bills. Mike has done a lot to better this team, aside from his LBs but he has the d-line and DBs to make up for it. He surprised a lot of last season making the playoffs but I think this is the year he wins the division.

-          Bills, Pats, Phins, Jets

NFC East: New York Giants. I know AJ kind of sucked at the beginning of last season but he picked it up, went on a huge run, and secured a playoff spot. He picked up 2 huge free agents in Baker and Holland to solidify the defense and I think Newbs runs away with the division.

-          Giants, Boys, WFT, Eagles

AFC North: Cleveland Browns. Biz has no confidence in himself but I do. Only really opponent is Stavo and if you can stop Maynard, you’re fine. Stavo has no one else. His defense is pretty good, don’t get me wrong, but if Biz can play smart, he should have no problem sweeping the Steelers and winning the division.

-          Browns, Steelers, Ravens, Bengals

NFC North: Green Bay Packers. You cannot just expect the defending Champs to now win the division. I don’t even think Alex lost anyone either. To be fair, the Bucs tried that and then lost to the Rams in the playoffs so history does not always repeat itself. Alex also added Byron Jones so it will be tough to pass the ball.

-          Packers, Lions, Vikings, Bears

AFC South: Tennessee Titans. I know Bloo made the Super Bowl and beat NYT in the regular season and the playoffs but NYT is just different. His o-line is not good at all but when you have Henry, it does not matter. Man does not go down anyways. His CBs are not the best either but with his pass rush, NYT does not need them to cover for a long time.

-          Titans, Jags, Colts, Texans

NFC South: Carolina Panthers. I doubted Jonesy last year after his 0-1 start and he did not care. Proved everyone wrong and with the offense he has, it is difficult to stop. While he has a high-powered offense, his defense does not let up many points either. Jonesy is difficult to stop on offense and to score on his defense. Jonesy is my Super Bowl pick this season.

-          Panthers, Falcons, Saints, Bucs

AFC West: Oakland Raiders. I don’t know why, I just have a feeling. If Trick can limit the turnovers, Hudson Nolan can be a top 5 QB easy. Especially with Jacobs. You will never know if it is a run or a pass. The defense is a little week but I think Trick can be a top scoring offense, again, if he limits the turnovers.

-          Raiders, Chargers, Chiefs, Broncos

NFC West: San Francisco 49ers. Unfortunately for DW, he has a full division now and is not guaranteed 6 wins. I feel bad picked DW here but I don’t know the other guys so its hard to make this pick. DW can run and pass the ball which makes him dangerous. He has kept up that 49ers defense too and I would not be surprised if he makes it to the Super Bowl.

9ers, Cards, Rams, Hawks

Ring Chasing: Joining the Revolution

Welcome back to another edition of “Ring Chasing: Joining the Revolution.” Today we will focus on week’s 13-15 and any rumors that have been mentioned.

Week 13: That was a great game and somehow the Pats pulled it out. Run game could not get going but McPherson showed he can sling the rock if he needs to. 368 yards on 12 completions and no picks. He also added 52 yards on the ground. Defense could not stop Lawrence but were able to shut down Etienne. At the end of the day, it does not matter what Lawrence did since the Pats came out with the W.

Week 14: Quinn Nordin did not think about last years playoff game at all this week. He was 2/2 on field goals and 4/4 on extra points. “I worked hard all off season, especially once I saw we were playing the Titans. Those 3 missed game winners haunt me every day and all I can do is make sure it does not happen again.” Whitehead was a huge part of the win as he added over 300 scrimmage yards and 3 total TDs.

Week 15: It seems to be when one struggles, the other picks up the slack. Whitehead only had 46 yards on the group but McPherson was 9/10 with 154 yards. As always, the defense did their part. Only allowed 7 points and were able to score 2 defensive TDs.

Rumor Mill: Once again, phones are ringing for Trent Brown but Brown made sure to remind the Patriots he has a no trade clause. Good news, Chase Winovich as finally re-signed for 3 more years’ worth almost 32 million. “Glad we were able to finally reach an agreement because I would not have played on the tag,” Chase on his extension. Along with Winovich, David Andrews has also signed an extension. Andrew’s is 2 years’ worth a little more than 22 million. With the win over the Jets, the Patriots have officially clinched the AFC East. Their sights now turn to the #1 seed.

Ring Chasing: Joining the Revolution

Welcome back to another edition of “Ring Chasing: Joining the Revolution.” Today we will focus on week’s 10-12 and any rumors that have been mentioned.

Week 10: What a start to this game for the defense. First 2 drives were interceptions that were able to be turned into points. The start of the show was Kadarius Toney who caught 3 TDs and showed that he is a SuperStar and can run any route from anywhere on the field. Whitehead was also being Whitehead as he scores 2 TDs and goes for almost 200 yards on the ground. He will be a first ballot hall of famer when the time comes.

Week 11: Defense showed that bend don’t break attitude before they settled down. The first 2 drives, Goff threw 3 passes for 110 yards but the Rams were held to 2 field goals. McPherson also struggled before getting the groove, starting 0/4 with a pick. The Pats need to develop McPherson but know when he struggles, give the ball to Whitehead and take the pressure off the young QB. Whitehead finished with 143 yards on the ground and 2 TDs to help push the win streak to 3.

Week 12: There will be a game where McPherson does not throw a pick 6 but today will not be that day. Overall, it was a great game for him going 12/14 for 230 and 3 TDs and Whitehead added 100 yards on the ground. Once again, that Pats pass defense led the charge. Only allowing 2 complete passes and 3 picks. We won’t talk about the run defense though…

Rumor Mill: The phones have been ringing for Gilly. Those teams are wanting a sign and trade but the Pats are not sure if they want that cap hit.

Ring Chasing: Joining the Revolution

Welcome back to another edition of “Ring Chasing: Joining the Revolution.” Today we will focus on week’s 7-9 and any rumors that have been mentioned.

Week 7: Bye week blues. First time all season the Pats have gone full pads in practice. There were no injuries either so things are still looking up.

Week 8: We had a feeling this was going to be a loss but this was ugly. McPherson threw 4 picks, 2 on the first 2 drives of the game. Defense also had no answer for Kittle and Sermon. Both go over 100 yards and the defense allowed 38 points. “No comment and we will see you next week after Detroit.” Coach Royce during the press interview about what went wrong. Only positive was Guyton going over 100 yards and a TD.

Week 9: Once again, McPherson bounces back after a tough loss. Not a great performance but he showed he can put a loss behind him. Threw for 218 and 2 TDs and ran for 35 and 1 TD. McPherson might have a new favorite target in Toney as he went for 128 and caught both TDs. Krys Barnes made his presence known against his former team as he sacked Hilton for a safety.

Rumor Mill: Still no contract extensions for Gilly, Andrews and Winovich. “We have priorities and while they are great players, they are asking for a pretty penny and we need to be able to re-sign other players too. Negotiations are in the works and hopefully they will have extensions soon,” Coach Royce on why they have no be re-signed.

Ring Chasing: Joining the Revolution

Welcome back to another edition of “Ring Chasing: Joining the Revolution.” Today we will focus on the first 6 weeks and any rumors that have been mentioned.

Before we get started, we have a trade. The Patriots have traded this year’s 4th and a next years 2nd to Green Bay in exchange for LOLB Jonathan Dixon. “He can be a special player for this year. Not sure how quickly he will be starting but Judon will show him the ropes and get him up to speed,” Coach Royce introducing Dixon to the team.

Week 4: Dixon got a few snaps and let up 2 TDs on missed tackles. Not the way you want to start. We should not keep talking about McPherson but when he plays like that, as a rookie, you have to. First game over 300 passing yards and threw 2 TDs. Most impressive, he stood in the pocket, took some big hits, but still completed the passes. Has to play the Dolphins again next so lets hope McPherson can keep it up.

Week 5: Pathetic. Only thing that comes to mind after that 37-23 loss to the Dolphins. Only good thing that came out of it was McPherson threw 3 TDs but also 2 picks. So, it’s not actually good. Defense let up almost 400 total yards and did not force a single turnover. They have a lot to work on to get back in the win column. NEXT!

Week 6: With the rain coming down, the Pats were having flash backs to just last week. Surprisingly, they were able to pitch a shut out and put up 52 points on the Jets. McPherson who? This game was all Josh Whitehead. Ran 22 times for 223 yards and 3 TDs. We knew they wanted to run the ball in the rain but no one was expecting this. Cannot forget the defense forced 8 turnovers, all interceptions, and Barnes has 3. Hopefully they can keep this momentum up after the bye.

Rumor Mill: Teams have been inquiring about SS RT Trent Brown but the Pats do not seem to be budging. “He is the ‘captain’ of this offensive line and a great overall leader. We do not plan to trade him unless we get an offer we cannot pass on,” Coach Royce when asked about the trade. The Patriots have informed TE Jonnu Smith and QB Mac Jones they will not be offering them contract extensions.

Ring Chasing: Joining the Revolution

Welcome back to another edition of “Ring Chasing: Joining the Revolution.” Today we will focus on the first 3 weeks and any rumors that have been mentioned.

Week 1: The Patriots went into Seattle and won 38-24 but that is no surprise. The real surprise was that Royce started McPherson over Mac. We tried to ask him about it after the game but all he said was, “As mentioned, who ever starts week 1, it does not mean they are our guy. Next question.” The rookie did not look bad but he did not look good. 3 total touches but 2 interceptions. He needs to limit those if he wants to win more games.

Week 2: McPherson, you need to be thanking your defense for this win. They forced 3 fumbles to get you the ball back and yet you still could not score. When you finally got it going, the defense held strong and did not allow a single point in the 2nd half. Sure, you drove down field to win but you left too much time. Bell bailed you out and secured the win. Royce, are you sure McPherson is your guy? The fans want Mac.

Week 3: Last week, we tore into McPherson and clearly it lit a fire under him. “Keep talking and I will keep proving I am THE guy in New England.” He threw for 234 yards, 2 TDs, and no picks. The most intriguing part, only threw 2 incompletions and scrambled once. The defense of course played lights out but we found McPherson’s favorite target. 9 receptions, 181 yards, and a touchdown for Kendricks. Still not high on McPherson but only time will tell.

Rumor Mill: Prior to the start of the season, the annual DW Division Polls were posted. The Pats are the favorite to win the division but clearly, they did not watch week 1 before voting. With McPherson under center, this is the Dolphins division to lose. As the Patriots were prepping for week 2, Schefter tweeted that they were shopping Mac Jones and Stephon Gilmore. The asking price was never mentioned but it cannot be high right?

Ring Chasing: Joining the Revolution

Welcome to the first installment of “Ring Chasing.” This season we will be focusing on “Joining the Revolution” where we will be following the New England Patriots on their “Ring Chasing” journey.

Off-Season: The Patriots made a few big moves to help solidify their team. They traded most of their draft picks away but got some big-name players out of it. The traded for TE Stefan Kendricks, MLB Krys Barnes, and CB Gio Jenkins. Pats fans were stunned when they traded for Barnes having just drafted Vince Bing who was DROY. We asked coach Royce on why he made that trade, “Well Bing had an incredible season but we cannot expect him to do it alone. We like to use 2 MLBs and Barnes fits our scheme.”

The Patriots were able to sign DT Raekwon Davis to match up with former Alabama DR Christian Barmore. “Barmore called me and told me to sign. Happy to be in the trenches with him again.”

Draft: With very few picks, no one knew what the Patriots were going to do. Having re-signed Judon to a 1-year deal, everyone thought they would go OLB and have Judon mentor them. Everyone was wrong. Coach Royce took QB Terrelle McPherson out of Oklahoma St. “Mac has done a great job for us these past few seasons but we are not sure if he is our guy. We are not sure who will start week 1 but who ever does, that does not mean they are our guy all season.”

Pre-Season: McPherson took most of the snaps with the first team while Jones was with 2nd team. We asked Royce what was going on, “He needs to be ready to step in if Mac goes down. Only way to build chemistry is by working together. Still not sure who will be the week 1 starter but it will be a game time decision.”

Patriots also signed SS veteran Eric Rowe to the team. The former Dolphin is hoping to “lay out Jaylen Waddle” for all the times Waddle beat him in practice. He will get that chance week 2 when the Pats fly to Miami.

Regular Season: With kickoff upon us and still not starting QB named, what will the Patriots do when they fly to Seattle? They also will fly to Arizona and face the Cardinals in week 3. It should be a good few weeks for New England but it all depends on who Royce Starts. We will be back after week 3 and give you a rundown of how the season is shaping up.

DuckKings Final Standings

The season is over, the points have been counted and we have a winner. But I am going to make you wait. First, we have to see who were the top 3 at each position.

QB:

  1. Jordan Love, WFT: 392.36
  2. Kyler Murray, ARI: 365.08
  3. Josh Allen, BUF: 354.88

HB:

  1. Saquon Barkley, NYG: 463.7
  2. Josh Whitehead, NE: 421.7
  3. Joe Mixon, CIN: 393.3

WR:

  1. DK Metcalf, SEA: 373.2
  2. Alton Morgan, LV: 361.6
  3. John Ross, NYG: 320.7

TE:

  1. Juwan Johnson, NO, 255.5
  2. Tyrone Williams, LAC: 237.7
  3. Owen O’Neill, GB: 226.6

Now since y’all are impatient and I bet you went down here first, in starting from last.

11: Spades (1928.22): This man really left because he was that bad at fantasy. Didn’t care about the league, just how bad he is at choosing players

10: Newbs (1968.16): Luckily you aren’t allowed to cheese in fantasy the way this man cheesed with Barkley and Ross. Are you old enough for some wine?

9: Biz (1973.68): Really? You put 2 TEs in your lineup and thought you had a chance? Do you even play actual fantasy?

8: Royce (1982.28): MVS torches my team do you would think he does that against other teams too. Nope, I just suck.

7: Smitty (2006.38): Go inside the mind of Smitty, “ I can stack my starting lineup and be fine with Hubbard in my flex.” Wrong….

6: Fazz (2075.26): I still want to know who allowed him in here?

5: DRNB (2223.88): I would have Jenn yelling rigged at the top of my lungs if you won. I would also expect Sutton to Scott’s more than 84 points in a season so don’t feel bad.

4: DJ (2240.22): I believed in you in and off the field but uh, maybe don’t believe in MacDaddy. You probably could have won if you had a different QB.

3: Finz (2295.28): Look at that, just like OBJ in real life. Screws the Browns on the field and screws you off the field. $1 more and you could have had a receiver better than him.

2: NYT (2331.88): This right here is rigged. I don’t care what anyone says, this is rigged. Man had Ross, Whitehead, Langley and Murray. No way he stayed under $100. I want a recount.

1: Fink (2608.32): Congrats on the win. You had one of the worst QBs and won. You proved you don’t QBs don’t matter. Next year maybe you’ll win something…

Great season everyone. Next year we are hoping there will prizes to give out to 1st, 2nd and 3rd. See y’all soon.

Rolling with Royce: Championship Sunday

Record: 3-7

Let’s get rolling

AFC

#7 Titans @ #3 Chargers

  • Titans have beaten the 1 and 2 seeds, in a blizzard. Now they are going to sunny LA and you expect me to pick the Chargers? Not happening. Titans are going back to the Bowl, 28-17.

NFC:

#7 Saints @ #6 Giants

  • Both teams have had some tough games to get here but both teams due deserve to be here. I know I am been against the Giants all playoffs and I gotta stick with that. Saints are just different right now and there is no stopping them. Saints 34, Giants 28 in OT.

2022-02-10

Rolling with Royce: Divisional Round

Record: 1-5

Let’s get rolling

AFC

#7 Titans @ #1 Bengals

  • Derrick Henry isn’t fair but this could be Tom Brady’s retirement party. I think the passing game beats the running game. Bengals 27, Titans 21.

#4 Jaguars @ #3 Chargers

  • Don’t know how the Jags made it past round 1 but I guess he did. Unfortunately, Chargers fan don’t exist so home field doesn’t matter. Give me the Chargers 45-21.

NFC

#7 Saints @ #1 WFT

  • Generally, I would take Washington to every game of the week but times have changed. Saints are going to the NFC Chip, 28-13.

#6 Giants @ #5 Packers

  • Giants are a tough team and the Packers tend to choke (IRL). Giants on the road in GB in January? Gotta take the Packers here, 38-35, last second FG.

Rolling with Royce: Wild Card Weekend

For those of you who have missed me, welcome back. For those of you who have no idea what is going on, enjoy the best content in Primer. Each week I choose a Game of the Week, Blowout of the Week, and Upset of the Week and tend to be wrong, a lot. The playoffs are a little different. I give my predictions on every game. This year I’m going to start keeping track of my record. Let’s get rolling!

AFC:

#7 Titans @ #2 Patriots

  • Will anyone be able to stop Josh Whitehead? I guess the same can be said for Henry. Which RB will lead their team to victory? Rumor has it, it’s going to be in a blizzard so give me NE, 17-7.

#6 Browns @ #3 Chargers

  • Herbert and Eckler have been a deadly combination. Never know if it will be a run or a pass. Defense has led this team to the playoffs. Will it be the high powered offense or the hard hitting defense? I think I gotta roll with the Browns. Watching how they handled Tennessee, they win a close one, 31-28.

#5 Dolphins @ #4 Jaguars

  • Etienne has been the workhouse on offense and Griffen has locked down his side of the field. The Phins are a pass heavy team that knows how to spread the love. Give me the Dolphins winning, 28-17.

NFC:

#7 Saints @ #2 Panthers

  • Chad Lowrey has proven he can throw the football, but his INTs are a bit concerning. DJ Moore has been unstoppable, leading the league in yards and 2nd in TDs. Give me the Panthers, 48-17.

#6 Giants @ #3 Lions

  • TREY CALLAHAN has led this defense in his rookie season. Danny Dimes has had a great season and adding how Saquon has ran the ball, going to be a tough offense. Defense wins championships. Lions 24, Giants 20.

#5 Packers @ #4 49ers

  • George Kittle has been the backbone of this high powered offense but you can thank their defense for the amount of turnovers produced. Is this Aaron Rodgers last season? He does not want to be a first round exit and I think he can pull off the win. Packers win in San Fran, 35-21.

Week 18: Make it or Break it

It’s our favorite time of the year! Playoffs (Insert gif mentally). Below is every scenario (I think, but who knows with EA) that can happen for the playoffs. Reminder: I AM THE ONLY ONE WHO SUPPORTED DJ!

Current Standings:

AFC:

1: Bengals (Clinched the 1)

2: Chargers (Lost to Ravens and could fall to 3 with Pats win)

3: Patriots (Can move to 2 with win v Jets)

4: Jaguars (Clinched 4 seed)

5: Dolphins (Clinches 5 seed with win or Titans loss)

6: Titans (Clinches 6 seed with win and potentially 5 seed with Dolphins loss. Moves to 7 seed with loss to Browns)

7: Browns (Clinches playoff spot and 6 seed with win v Titans. Loss gives Ravens hope with a 1-1 division split and both having a 3-3 division record.)

On the bubble:

Ravens (Needs Browns to lose and some tie breaking magic to happen)

NFC:

1: Washington (Clinches 1 seed with win over Seahawks. Both teams are CPU so we will not know until advance)

2: Panthers (Clinched 2 seed. Can become 1 seed with Washington loss)

3: Lions (Clinched 3 seed)

4: 49ers (Clinches 4 seed with win. Potentially does not make playoffs with loss and Cardinals win. 49ers 4-1 in division while Cards are 3-3)

5: Giants (Clinches 5 or 6 seed with win. Can fall to 6 or 7 with loss and Packers win and tie break with Saints)

6: Saints (Lost and call fall to 7 with Packers win)

7: Packers (Clinches 6 with win. Can move to 5 with potential tie breakers with Giants)

On the bubble:

Cardinals (Needs 49ers loss and some tie break magic)

For the most part, playoffs are set but seeding becomes the problems. Stay tuned as I give a playoff break down when everything is set in stone.

Get ready to start “Rolling with Royce”
